INTRODUCTION
Redland Bay Tennis Club is a thriving tennis club nestled amongst tranquil bush surroundings in the heart of Redland Bay. Located on the town’s main entry road, the Redland Bay Tennis Club is well positioned to promote itself and to cater for one of South East Queensland's fastest growing communities.
The Redland Bay Tennis Club boasts a swelling membership of 217 members with weekly competitions for adults held on Tuesday, Thursday nights and Wednesday mid week ladies. Well supported and enthusiastic junior competitions are also held on Friday afternoons as well as a junior tournament series held throughout the year. Tennis has a wide spectrum of appeal and can be enjoyed whether you are eight or eighty.
The RBTC’s annual Club Championships is in its 11th year and proves a very popular and competitive event amongst its members. The Club also hosts several social doubles events throughout the year. The Redland Bay Tennis Club is proud of its history and the Rosie Dunn Shield allows the club to remember members, family and friends both present and past. This shield is the trophy for the club's annual challenge against neighboring Cleveland. The Frayne Bloor is a more recent shield whereby the RBTC members compete against the Wynnum Tennis Club two times in the calendar year.
Committed to growth, Redland Bay Tennis Club is entering its 12th year of partnership with Bayside Tennis Coaching which provides the Redlands district with professional coaching for people of all ages. Bayside Tennis Coaching hosts a very strong Cardio Tennis Program as well as the MLC Hot Shots for junior players. A total of 400 juniors and adults participated in the 2015 tennis coaching program offered by Bayside Tennis Coaching on a weekly basis at the Redland Bay Tennis Club!! This number is expected to grow again in 2016.
The RBTC welcomes non-members for social play four times a week (early mornings as well as evenings) and the club encourages all families to use the courts and licensed facilities and become part of the growing Redland Bay Tennis Club community.
