THESE GUYS ARE READY TO ROCK!

SCIENCE CHANNEL’S METEORITE MENRETURNS FOR A SECOND SEASON

--Science Channel’s METEORITE MEN New Season Premieres Tuesday, November 2, 2010, at 9 PM (ET/PT) --

(Silver Spring, Md.) – Beginning Tuesday, November 2, at 9PM (ET/PT,) prepare for Science Channel to rock your world, with the return of the network’s hit original series, METEORITE MEN. Many have searched for “visitors” from outer space, but METEORITE MEN co-hosts Geoff Notkin and Steve Arnold, actually find them. Armed with a brand new custom-built Orange County Chopper bike, these cosmic adventurers combat rugged terrain and challenging weather conditions in their pursuit of scientific treasures. In this all new season, the METEORITE MENtackle physically grueling adventures as they travel more than 60,000 miles – across four continents – experiencing temperature changes of more than 100 degrees, in search of rare meteoric riches.

Finding these cosmic treasures is a difficult task requiring cutting-edge detection technology, as well as a keen ability to scientifically decipher the mystery of where each might lie. That’s where the METEORITE MEN have the advantage. These rock stars of science share a history and passion for unearthing pieces of outer space, drafting secret maps of locations where they believe meteorites have fallen. Not wanting to miss a piece of the action, Steve and Geoff globetrot to Northern Sweden, the deserts of Chile, and the Australian Outback, to immortalize their legacy with unprecedented discoveries.

For thousands of years, valuable lost pieces of the universe have been buried deep below the earth’s surface – remnants of distant planets, moons or other celestial objects that raced through space at speeds of 30,000 miles per hour until violently crash landing on earth. Meteorites are among the rarest natural objects on earth, and Science Channel gives a rare glimpse into thrilling search for these hard to find, ancient alien visitors.

METEORITE MEN is produced for Science Channel by LMNO Cable Group. Eric Schotz and Craig Borders are executive producers for LMNO Cable Group, and Christo Doyle is executive producer for Science Channel. Deborah Adler Myers is general manager and executive vice president of programming for Science Channel.
