Colour in picture (see below for some colouring pages).
Game: Tortoise Race
Joeys lined up on all fours. They are tortoises. On GO the Joeys race to the end of the Hall BUT the last to get there is the winner!!!
Game: Silly Twin
Joeys are each given a card with a silly action written on it ( finger snapping, ear pulling, foot stamping, rubbing tummy, patting head, hopping, jumping backwards, chicken dancing, holding nose, clapping hands, covering ears, whistling, hands on head) Joeys need to find their partner.
Game: Newspaper Fold
Joeys each have a piece of newspaper. When the music stops they stand on their paper. Move around again. At each subsequent time fold their paper in half.
Game: Dog and Bone
Joeys in two teams lined up and numbered 1 to 10 on each side. In the centre is a lolly. Leader calls a number and those 2 Joeys run out to pick up the lolly. Only one Joey will get the lolly. (At the end give the other Joey a lolly as well.)
Craft: Ball Catcher
Joeys cut the bottom off a 2litre milk container and decorate with coloured electricity tape. Tie practice golf ball onto string (But don’t get to tie string onto container) Have to finish it at home.
Ball Catchers http://crafts.kaboose.com/ball-catchers.html
Here is a good way to recycle your old plastic laundry detergent bottles or plastic milk jugs, and have lots of fun afterwards. The plastic bottles can be hard to cut, so help will be needed for this step.
Equipment:
Plastic milk jugs
Sharp scissors
Coloured electrical tape
Small ball
Method:
- Wash and let dry the milk cartons well before starting. Note: it may be easier to cut the bottom off the containers first.
- Use the sharp scissors to cut the milk carton. First cut off the bottom, then cut a U shape under the handle. Make sure you don’t cut into the handle so you can hold the bottle while catching the ball.
- Use the coloured electrical tape to decorate the milk cartons.
- Have fun playing toss.
Story: Geraldine’s Blanket
Geraldine’s Blanket (Stop on page “No” said Papa) Don’t finish the story let the Joeys decide how it might end!!!
