AstheHIKEwenton,theCUBSCOUTSsplashedinacreek,chasedaROBIN,climbedaDOGWOOD,andtriedtoout-mooafieldofcows.TheDENLEADERgrewwearyoftryingtokeepupandsuggestedtheyrestfromtheirHIKE,undertheshadeofaDOGWOOD,andeattheirsacklunches.
AstheCUBSCOUTSwereeatingtheygrumbledaboutnotseeinganywildANIMALSyetontheirHIKE.TheDENLEADERexplainedthatiftheywerepatientandmuchquieter,theywouldnotscaretheANIMALSawayandhaveabetterchanceofseeingsome.JustthenaROBIN,landedonabranchoftheirDOGWOODtreeandtheboysallmadetheCubScoutsignandwereveryquiet.TheDENLEADERmotionedforthemtolaysomebreadfromtheirsandwichesontheground.TheCUBSCOUTStorethebreadinsmallpiecesandscattereditaroundthem.LikeallwildANIMALS,theROBIN,wasatfirstafraidofthepeoplebelowherDOGWOODbranchandjustwatchedcuriously.Butthen,sheflewtothegroundtosamplethebread.OneoftheCUBSCOUTSwasvery,verystillandheldapieceofbreadcarefullyinhisfingersandsoontheROBINwaseatingoutofhishand.Eventuallythe
