The Rosenberg Housing Authority will be accepting pre-applications for the

Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program (Rental Assistance) Waiting List, Tuesday through Thursday, May 4-6, 2010. Pre-applications can be completed between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. at 117 Lane Drive, Suite 18, Rosenberg, TX 77471. All applicants must provide identification and annual gross income. All pre-applications will be accepted, however, the pre-application does not mean you will be placed on the waiting list.

Selection for the waiting list will not be based on first come first serve basis. A random (computer selected) lottery system will be held to determine 300 names and placement on the waiting list. The pre-application will have a lottery number on the upper right hand corner that will be your assigned lottery number. Only one application can be filled out per Head of Household. Duplicates will be disqualified.

Reasonable accommodations will be provided for the disabled, handicap and/ or elderly experiencing a hardship to apply. Documentation must be provided. Contact the Housing Authority Clerk at (281) 342-1456 for assistance.

Only lottery winners will be notified by mail no later than June 15, 2010 of their selection. Those applications not selected will be discarded. Eligibility will be determined when the full application is completed. Selections will be made regardless of race, color, religion, nation origin, familial status, or handicap (disability). To be income eligible applicant’s household gross annual income may not exceed the income limits.

Effective May 6, 2010, at 6:00 p.m. the Rosenberg Housing Authority will STOP accepting pre-applications for rental assistance until further notice (No Exceptions).

Preferences will be offered for a family whose sole family member is elderly,

displaced, or a person with disabilities, over other single-person families.
