Football Coaching Camp

A three days coaching football coaching camp was organized by District Football Association Chitral in collaboration of G.D.Langland Principal and Chitral Scouts from10th through 12th July. The theme was “ Attitudal Change through Football”. We would like to change the mentality of the young footballers, the coach Mr. Bilal Mumtaz maintained during the first session of the training. Mr.Bilal Mumtaz and Nadir Saigol coaches from Canada and America delivered the training/coaching. Coaching camp kick off on 10th J July. G.D.Langland was chief guest. He formally inaugurated the 3 days coaching camp. Total 33 young footballers participated the training/ coaching camp. Daily 4 hours, both theoretical and practical sessions were held. The young footballers took keen interest in the training sessions and displayed the excitement, enthusiasm, punctuality and discipline. It was the first show off opportunity for the young footballers. The coaches did their utmost to expose the players to different tools and techniques, new drills of football besides formation, cross kicking, header and positioning. They gave useful tips to the youth footballers

While to make the event successful, Commandant Chitral Scouts and Major Ghulam Rasool DQ Chitral scouts extended all possible cooperation besides allowing the Chitral Scouts stadium and making logistic arrangements.

On 12th July, the concluding day Mr. Rehmatullah Khan Wazir DCO Chitral was chief guest besides Chitral scouts Officers, DSO Chitral, Head Departments, veteran footballers and local football fans. At the end of the sessions, a show match between G.D. Langland School and Frontier Crops School was played. Frontier crops School won the match 2.00. DCO Chitral gave away the prize to the winner and runner up. He announced cash prize of Rs.6000 for the winner and Rs. 4000 for the runner up.

The Coaches (Bilal Mumtaz & Nadir Saigol) distributed 40 Footballs (Cost of Rs. 50,000) among the participating young footballers. They also donated 10 footballs to DFA Chitral and 10 Football for G.D. Langland School, besides Rs.10,000/- donation to G.D. Langland School.

Mr. Hussain Ahmed General Secretary DFA Chitral lauded the efforts of Mr. Bilal Mumtaz and Nadir Saigol for their interest and efforts to promote football and providing recreation to the youth of Chitral beside striving to skill enhancement and capacity building of the youth. He said that the training course will play vital role in the confidence building and enhancing self esteem of the youth, therefore such courses should be organized. He appealed to Pakistan Football Federation and Pakistan Sports Board to organize such camps for the young footballers of Chitral in view of the enormous potential and talent in the region.

Mr. Hussain Ahmed praised the generous cooperation and support of Chitral Scouts, particularly Maj.Ghulam Rasool for his support to DFA Chitral during the coaching camp. The camp ended with the traditional dance by the young footballers on the tune of local music.
