Moment for Mental Health: Dealing with Anxiety: School, life, kids, work, there are many stressors all around us every day. Come learn about anxiety and its effects on you and discover ways to combat it with simple, effective strategies and TEA!
BRAIN FOOD-Not just for Zombies!: What you eat has a profound impact on how you think, work, and learn. Discover foods that help and hinder so that you can be at peak performance on the job, in the classroom, or taking a test. There will be free bananas.
Dinosaurs and History: Travel Back in Time in Raleigh: There are many great, free museums in Raleigh that feature excellent learning opportunities for you, your kids, your friends, or your family. We will explore the different opportunities in your own back yard and how to find out when things are happening where.
New Knowledge, Old Tools: Pencils and Learning: Believe it or not, writing information down is more effective than simply listening, typing, or taking a picture, so put that camera phone down and pick up a pencil; you’ll be amazed at what your brain can do!
OOR Testing: Some students will need to return on either Friday the 15th or Monday the 18th to retake their placement test in order for us to appropriately place them in classes. This will in NO WAY affect enrollment!
Quick Start Orientation Session: Welcome new students! All new students will attend a new student orientation session to learn about how Wake Tech can help them achieve their goals and assist them as they determine which classes they will take. Classes start July 18th.
Student Advising: One-on-one advising opportunities for all students regarding classes, tests, careers, and life. Stop by and find some direction.
Studying about Studying: We will talk about effective methods for getting the most out of studying, review necessary materials, and talk about how technology fits into studying.
