When we collect information from you in the credit applicationprocess,weusethatinformationinanumberof ways toassessyourcredit applicationandtosource asuitable creditproviderorlessorand/orinsuranceprovider.Wemay:

Aspartofprovidingourservicestoyou,wemayundertake tasksforacreditproviderwhicharereasonablynecessaryto manage the application process. Whendoing so, we are actingasagentforthecreditprovider, withthesameprivacy lawrequirementsapplyingtobothofus.

Wemaysubmityourapplication tooneormorecredit providers. Thosecredit providersandtheirwebsiteaddresses aresetoutintheScheduleattheendofthisdocument.

Acreditprovider, towhomwesubmitanapplication,may discloseinformation aboutyouto,andcollectinformation aboutyoufrom,fromoneormoreCRBs.

The website of each credit provider contains details of eachCRBwith which it dealsand other detail about informationheldaboutyou and describesyourkeyrights. Thisdetailmaybedescribedonthecreditproviders’ websites as ‘notifiablematters’,‘privacypolicy’,‘creditreportingpolicy’ or‘privacydisclosurestatementandconsent’,andincludes–

  • ThattheCRBmayincludeinformationthecreditprovider discloses aboutyoutoothercreditproviders toassess yourcreditworthiness
  • That,ifyoubecomeoverdueinmakingconsumercredit paymentsoryoucommitaseriouscreditinfringement, thecreditprovidermaydisclosethatinformationtoa CRB
  • Howyoucanobtainthecreditprovider’sand/orCRB’s policiesaboutmanagingyourcreditinformation
  • Yourrighttoaccessand/orcorrectinformationheld aboutyouandtocomplainaboutconductthatmay breachtheprivacyandcreditreportinglaws
  • YourrighttorequestaCRBnottoundertakepre- screeningforpurposes ofdirectmarketing byacredit provider

Thisdetailwillalsobeincluded bythecredit providerwho approvesyourapplication intheprivacydisclosurestatement andconsentdocumentit will providetoyou.

Eachcreditprovider websiteincludesinformation onhowto contactthecreditprovider andhowtoobtainacopyofits privacydocuments inaformthatsuitsyou(e.g.hardcopyor email).

Yourrights

Youhavetherighttoask:

  • Discloseto,andobtainfrom,anyprospectivecredit providerorinsurer,information aboutyouthatis reasonablynecessarytoobtainthefinanceand insurancesyourequire;
  • Obtainfrom,anddiscloseto,anythirdparty,information aboutyou,theapplicant(s) orguarantor(s) thatis reasonably necessarytoassistyouobtainthefinance and insurancesrequired;
  • Provideyourinformation,includingyourcreditreport(s), tooneormoreofthecreditproviders specifiedinthe ScheduleofCreditProvidersbelowsotheycanassess yourapplication,ortheapplicationofacompanyof whichyouareadirector,oryoursuitabilityasa guarantor
  • Providecreditinformationaboutyoutoaguarantor,or prospectiveguarantor;
  • Provideyou,orthecompanyofwhichyouareadirector, withoffersorinformationofothergoodsorserviceswe,or any of our associated entities, may be able to provide to you or the company, unless you tell us not to;

Wheretheapplicant,orguarantor,isacompanyofwhich youareadirector, youconsenttotheuse ofyour information,inadditiontothecompany’s information,in eachofthewayslistedabove.

Authorisation

Bysigningbelow, youalsoauthoriseustomake arequest onyourbehalftoobtaincreditreporting information aboutyourconsumerandcommercialcreditworthiness fromaCRB.Thatinformationwillassistusinproviding ourservicestoyou.Thisauthorisationceaseswhenwe undertakea taskonbehalfofa creditprovider.
