Position: ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT DRYDEN HOMEWARD BOUND PROGRAM

Term:Full time (35 hrs/wk); Short Term contact until March 31, 2017

(Potential for extension pending successful funding applications)

The Administrative Assistantwill be required to perform an array of administrative dutiesin support of the Homeward Bound program development. Responsibilities include but are not limited to;file maintenance, data entry, minutes taking,assist with coordinationmeetings, review and/or preparation of documents, reports and other correspondent materials.Other administrative duties, relevant to the position, shall be assigned as required. The Administrative Assistant will adhere to the policies and procedures as determined by the Board of Directors and under the direct supervision of the Executive Director or designate.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent;
  • Diploma/certificate in anadministrative or other relevant field, considered an asset.
  • 1 – 2 years administrative support experience in a busy office environment.
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office especially Word and Excel.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Accurate and efficient typing abilities and file management;
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Understanding & awareness of Indigenous Cultures and perspectives.
  • Ability to speak and/or understand Ojibway or Oji-Cree a definite asset.
  • Must possess current First Aid / CPR certification or be willing to be certified.
  • Possess a valid Ontario Drivers License; provision of Driver’s Abstract will be employment condition.
  • A clear Criminal Reference Check (CPIC) will be a condition of the employment offer.
