The library will be closed all day tomorrow. It will also be closed during Friday lunchtime .Sorry! Speakers' Corner is not running this Friday. It will be on as usual next Friday, when Carrie MacVicar will tell us 'Her Places To See Before You Die'

Zumba Charity Event Monday 9th of November 6.30-7.30pm Elgin Academy Assembly Hall

Come and participate in the Zumba charity event on Monday the 9th of November 6.30-7.30pm. It promises to be amazing fun with instruction from Laura Stewart, Y Dancers, and sensational Staff!! All money raised will be donated to the Archie Foundation and CliC Sargent. This promises to be a fantastic, entertaining evening while raising money for two very worthy causes. All you need is comfortable workout clothes, water and energy to dance for an hour!

Entry costs £4 Adult, £3 Students, with family group concessions. We hope to see you there!

Moray Secondary Schools’ Cross Country Competition 2015 This will take place at Lossiemouth High School on Monday November 2nd. All pupils S1-6 are eligible and there is still time to be part of this event. If you are interested please give your name to Mr Davis in the PE department before the end of school TODAY.

Hockey Club: Hockey Club is NOT on this week. It will resume as normal next Thursday 3.40pm-4.40pm on the astro. Thanks (SS)

Morriston Road

We heard more reports toward the end of last term of pupils behaving poorly along Morriston Road - by stepping out in front of cars etc. Such behaviour is highly dangerous and must stop immediately. (DB)

School Football: Elgin Academy Seniors and Under 15's both away to Speyside High school on Saturday 31st October (Halloween). Kick off likely to be 9.30am. Please notify Mr Baker (Senior squad) and Mr Roberston (Under 15's) of your availability for Saturday. Update to follow regarding bus times etc but cost will be £3 per player. Any problems or question please see Mr Baker in G23. Thanks (MB).

SHANARRI Game Competition If you would like to win £100 just by creating an interactive game, based around the 8 wellbeing indicators, goto B38 on Thursday 29th and Friday 30th October to use the computer facilities. It will be available from 1.05pm. Thank you.

S1-S3

S1 Parents’ Evening: Letters for parents were issued via the S1 year assembly on Monday. If you did not receive a copy or were absent, please collect a letter from the office to take home. Thank you

New Y Dance class: there is going to be a new class starting for S1 and S2 pupils on Tuesday after school from 3.30pm to 4.30pm. There are limited spaces available so you can get permission forms from the PE base. Classes start tomorrow.

Origami club will take place in G35 on Friday at 1.05pm where the completed origami dragon will be on show!

S1&S2 Rugby Squad. & S3 Rugby Squad We have a home match this Wednesday against Gordonstoun development team. Change in Morriston changing rooms at 1.40. Kick off is at 2.45.

There are a few players who have not completed a consent form. All players must get a season consent form from Mr Kelly’s room and return it by Wednesday. You can download the form from “Student Life” on the school website.For more information, please see the Rugby noticeboard by G15. (PK)

S6 Higher Chemistry Students - Please could you attend a meeting in G27 at 1:20pm on Wednesday 28th October.

S6 Study Periods: Study periods have now been added to timetables. Can pupils please check these are correct and advise the office of any changes. There should be no blank periods on timetables. If you have a blank period on your timetable this needs to be updated with a study period. All amended timetables should be handed to the office by Friday. Thank you

Library Study Tomorrow Please note that the library will be closed all day tomorrow and there will be no access for resources, computers or study space.

RAF Air Experience Day – 5th November: If you are interested in joining the armed forces on leaving school then the RAF Air Experience Day is a fantastic way of gaining an insight into life in the forces. You will spend the day in various departments at RAF Lossiemouth including a visit to one of the Typhoon Squadrons and also sporting activities and there will be a focus on the logistics trades within the RAF.
