Welcome to Biology
Mr. Enge and Mrs. Shaffer
Introduction and Rules
Rules
The number one rule in our classroom is RESPECT. We expect everyone to be respectful to your teachers and to your fellow students. In turn, we also realize that we have a responsibility to be respectful of each student. Each day, when the bell rings, we expect each student to be in their seats. The day’s objectives, as well as warm-up activity of some sort will be written on the board, and every student should be focusing on that activity while attendance is taken.
Supplies
q 1” or 1 ½” 3 ring binder
q Loose leaf paper
q Dividers are helpful
q Blue or black ink pens, pencils- WE DO NOT GIVE OUT WRITING UTENSILS
Preparation/Participation
Students are expected to be on time, with all of their supplies, materials, and work every day. Popsicle stick will be used often to increase participation, and so students should be prepared at all times. Being consistently unprepared will result in contact and loss of privileges.
Homework
Homework assignments will be based on the week’s activity. Students will be expected to work on the activities from their weekly pathway for at least 30 minutes per night. Homework is due the next day (unless otherwise noted). It will be accepted 1 day late for half credit. After that, students will earn a zero. All directions and activities are online at www.hatboro-horsham.org/enge.
Make-up Work
If you are absent for any reason, you, the student are responsible for getting the work that you missed. Once again, all daily activities are posted on my website, so there is no excuse for “not knowing what we did”. You must obtain the green “excused absence-classroom make-up pass” in order to receive credit for your make-up work; this is our district policy.
