Dear Parent/Carer15 September 2015

GCSE ART VISIT TO ROCHE COURT, SALISBURY
THURSDAY 22nd OCTOBER 2015

A trip to Roche Court Sculpture Park, Salisbury has been arranged for GCSE Art students on Thursday 22nd October 2015. Students and staff will be given a tour by the sculpture park staff where they will be guided around the site and shown a variety of sculptures which relate to Natural Forms. They will produce ideas, drawings and photographs which will inform their coursework on returning to school.

We will travel by minibus from Oaklands at 9am and return to school at 4.30pm. Students will require a packed lunch which will be eaten at Roche Court in their enclosed lunch area. Students will also require a drink and snack for the journey home. Students are encouraged to bring their sketchbooks and simple drawing materials and may also wish to bring their own digital camera. Students are required to wear appropriate, comfortable clothing which is suitable for wearing outdoors and to be prepared for wet or cold weather.

There are 25 places available and the total cost of the trip is £9.00. As this trip is deemed to be an enhancement to the curriculum, the school normally is unable to offer financial assistance and therefore the full cost of the activity must be borne by yourselves. Payments and accompanying paperwork must be handed in on or before the deadline date outlined to avoid jeopardising your child’s place on the trip/activity. Should your child withdraw from the activity, please be aware that deposits are non-refundable and any further payments can only be refunded if the place can be filled by another student on a waiting list, or if the withdrawal is for an insurable reason. If there are significant changes to the cost of the trip, these may have to be passed on to the student. Be assured that we will try to keep such costs to a minimum.

We would advise that students do not to take valuables out on school activities, however, should they be taken parents should ensure personal possessions are adequately

It is the parent’s/guardian’s responsibility to update the school should there be any changes to the medical information about their child. Please communicate these to Mrs Brettell, Business Support Manager.

Please complete and return the consent form and monies (cheques made payable to Oaklands Catholic School) to the Finance Office by Monday 12 October 2015. Please do not send post-dated cheques. Alternatively you can pay online.

Yours sincerely

Mr R Forster
