An Evening with George Alagiah – ‘Food for Thought’

On Thursday 9th February, 8.15 p.m. at Broxbourne Civic Hall.

Why would you produce a crop you don’t need, with water you can’t afford to waste, on land that is precious, for people who you will never meet and who live thousands of miles away? George Aligiah’s lecture is a compelling round-the-world investigation into the global food chain and why it is fit to break. He will show why food security could be the issue of the 21st century. We live in a world where a billion people are over-weight & a billion people go to bed hungry. ‘Food for thought’ will make you think twice about your shopping list. Tickets cost £11.00 for stalls, £13.00 for the terrace.
