In general, follow the signs to Rt. 501 North! Here are the details:
US 460 - From the West of Lynchburg: From 460, take the right-hand exit to 460 E Business (Timberlake Rd). Proceed for about 3 miles to Route 501. Exit onto 501 North and go about 2 miles to a traffic light at Rt. 221.
Continue straight on Rt. 501 N through the light at Rt. 221. At the next light, turn left to
stay on Rt. 501 North. At the next light at Boonsboro Rd., turn left (still 501 N) and go about 2 miles. Turn left onto Coffee Road (Rt. 644) and go about 2 miles. The Boonsboro Ruritan Club Building is on your right.
US 460 - From the East of Lynchburg: Exit Rt. 460 at Candler's Mountain Rd (a right turn exit). Follow signs to Rt. 501 North (River Ridge Mall will be on your left, and Days Inn will be on your right). Take the exit ramp to the right to Rt. 501 North. Follow 501 N for about

Please be careful when calculating entry fees!
Each day’s Rally Trial is a separate event from that day’s Obedience Trial (per AKC rules). Entering the same dog in both Obedience & Rally on the same day requires a “First Entry” fee for both events.
Here are some examples of typical entry situations:
Ginger entered in Novice A both days: $20 x 2 = $40
Sweep entered in Open B & Utility B both days: ($20 + $10) x 2 = $60
Abe entered in Rally Advanced B & Rally Excellent B both days: ($20 + $10) x 2 = $60
Lucy entered in Novice B & Rally Novice B both days: ($20 + $20) x 2 = $80
NOTICE TO EXHIBITORS
OBEDIENCE will be judged indoors. Two fully matted rings will be used.
RALLY will be judged outdoors on grass.
The ring will be set up on the athletic field that is used for our agility trials.
DOTC will have shade tents for exhibitors waiting “on deck”.
Remember to include the dog’s jump height when entering Rally Advanced & Rally Excellent!
Judging in the Obedience rings and the Rally ring will overlap. The judging schedule and running order will be set up to avoid conflicts.
Move-ups will be allowed in accordance with Chapter 1, Section 16 of the
Obedience Regulations.
Food and drinks will be available for purchase. DOTC’s concession stand will
offer snacks and lunch items, hot beverages, soft drinks and bottled water.
The Boonsboro Ruritan Club building is air-conditioned. Folding chairs are available, but we recommend that you bring your own chair for comfort. Exhibitors are allowed to leave crates & chairs in the building overnight Saturday.
Dogs may arrive at any time prior to their scheduled time of judging. Dogs not required for further judging will be excused.
All dogs present must be held on leash or confined to their crates except when being judged.
Children must be under the supervision of their parents or guardians at all times.
The Dog Owners Training Club of Lynchburg and the Boonsboro Ruritan Club assume no responsibility for any loss, damage or injury sustained by exhibitors, handlers or spectators, or to any of their dogs or property.
EXHIBITORS MUST CLEAN UP AFTER THEIR DOGS both inside the building and outdoors. Please help DOTC retain the use of this facility for our events and training classes.
Mail entries with fees to Meg McMichael, Trial Secretary, 408 Otterview Road, Forest VA 24551-2906. Checks and money orders should be made payable to DOTC. Entries without full fees will not be accepted. Acknowledgment of entries will be made as soon as practicable. Should the exhibitor not receive such acknowledgment within a reasonable time, please contact the Trial Secretary. For email confirmation of receipt of entry, see entry form.
Telephone, fax and email entries cannot be accepted.
Entries not on official AKC entry forms and photocopies of entry forms without the Agreement and Rules on the reverse side of the Official AKC Entry Form are not acceptable. Unsigned and illegible entries will not be accepted.
No entry shall be made and no entry shall be accepted which specifies any conditions as to its acceptance. Returned checks do not constitute a valid entry fee. The Trial Secretary will add a collection fee of $25 to the amount of each returned check.
An AKC Recording Fee of $.50 and an AKC Event Service Fee of $1.50 are required for each dog entered at any Licensed or Member Club Obedience Trial. If a dog is entered in more than one class, the fee is to be collected on the first entry only. (See Chapter 11, Section 2 of the Rules Applying to Dog Shows.)
An AKC Recording Fee of $3.00 is required for each entry in any Licensed or Member Club Rally Trial. If a dog is entered in more than one class in a Rally event, the fee is to be collected on each of the entries of that dog. (AKC RallyRegulations, Chapter 1, Section 3) These fees are included in the entry fees.
Closing date for entries is 12:00 Noon, Wednesday, August 29, 2007.
Owners are responsible for errors in making out entry forms, whoever may make such errors. No entry fee will be refunded in the event of such errors after the published closing date.
No refund for overpayment of fees if the error is less than $10.
Entry fees less $4 per entry will be refunded for bitches that come in season
or dogs injured after the close of entries. The Trial Secretary must receive a written statement from a veterinarian prior to the start of judging.
Entry fees shall not be refunded in the event that a dog is absent, disqualified, excused by Veterinarian or Judge or barred from competition by action of the Trial Committee. If because of riots, wars, strikes, civil disturbances, national emergencies, health emergencies, and the dictates of law enforcement or of the owners(s) of the grounds and/or facilities or other acts beyond the control of management, it is impossible to open or complete the trials, no refund of entry fee will be made. Extreme weather conditions, such as, but not limited to snow storms, hurricanes, lightning, extreme heat, heavy rains, or other circumstances including, but not limited to, the condition of the facilities or grounds and/or the ingress and egress from the grounds, must be considered for the health and safety of the dogs, exhibitors and spectators. The well-being of dogs, exhibitors and spectators is of paramount importance, and, in the event it is necessary to cancel or stop the trials before completion, no refund of entry fee will be made.

In consideration of the acceptance of this entry and of the holding of this event and of the opportunity to have the dog judged and to win prizes, ribbons, or trophies, I (we) agree to hold the AKC, the event-giving club, their members, directors, governors, officers, agents, superintendents or event secretary and the owner and/or lessor of the premises and any provider of services that are necessary to hold this event and any employees or volunteers of the aforementioned parties, and any AKC approved judge, judging at this event, harmless from any claim for loss or injury which may be alleged to have been caused directly or indirectly to any person or thing by the act of this dog while in or about the event premises or grounds or near any entrance thereto, and I (we) personally assume all responsibility and liability for any such claim; and I (we) further agree to hold the aforementioned parties harmless for any claim for loss, injury or damage to this dog.
