Staff Recruitment Plan Sample
Position: Management Services Officer III (MSO III)
Responsibility: This search will commence March 1, 2003. The position is the business and administrative staff officer for the department of Genetics. The department chair, working with the Dean’s Office, will assume responsibility for coordinating this search. Human Resources will provide assistance in writing the job description, identifying job requirements, and preparing the employee requisition; recommending appropriate recruitment sources; drafting sample interview questions; reviewing applications/resumes and referring the highest qualified candidates for consideration for interview; serving on the search committee.
Position Description: This is a vacant MSO III position. The department chair, with input and assistance from the Dean’s Office and Human Resources, will prepare a new job description.
Diversity: To achieve excellence in our workforce through diversity, a variety of advertising sources will be used: job announcements will be sent to appropriate professional groups (e.g., Academic Business Officer Group); targeted mailings will be sent to potential applicants; the job announcement will be posted on HR’s web site (
