Red Celery

Question

How do plants get water up to the leaves?

Hypothesis

Leaves will turn red when celery is put in red colored water.

Materials

Celery Water Red food coloring Jar

Procedure

1. Put water in jar.

2. Add red food coloring.

3. Put celery in water.

4. Wait three days.

Results

The stalk and leaves of the celery turn red.

Conclusion

Plants carry water through the stem of the celery up to the leaves.

Have you ever tried your own experiment? Have you ever see celery turned red in front of your own eyes and taste them? Let try “Red celery” experiment! I will show you, how to do this interesting project.

First of all, make a question. So, it will make the project easier for you. For this project, the question is “How do plants get water up to the leaves?”

Second step is Hypothesis. Hypothesis is idea or explanation. My hypothesis for this project is those leaves of celery will turn red when celery is put in red colored water.

Third step, you have to list all materials you need in the this experiment. You will need celery, water, red food coloring and jar for the experiment.

After you prepared all of the materials you will start your experiment follow the procedure. First step, put water in jar, Add add red food coloring, put celery in water and wait for three days

After three days you will see the result of the experiment that the stalk and leaves of the celery turned red. Then, record the changed.

When you finished your observation, you can present this project by making graph, chart and table of results.

The last step is conclusion. To make the conclusion is to summarize your project. From this project, the conclusion is Plants carry water through the stem of the celery up to the leaves.
