For North & Middle Andaman
Partly cloudy weather is likely to occurduring next five days.In North and Middle Andaman no rainfall is expected during this period.The maximum temperature in North and Middle Andaman will be 32 to 33 oC with minimum temperature of 24 oC, whereas the maximum and minimum relative humidity is expected to be in the range of 64 to 71 % and 56 to 64 % respectively in North and Middle Andaman. Wind speed of 11 to 13 km/h is expected from North Westerly direction
For South Andaman
Partly cloudy weather is likely to occur during next five days. In South Andaman no rainfall is expected during this period. The maximum temperature in South Andaman will be 32 to 33 o C with minimum temperature of 24 to 25 o C, whereas the maximum and minimum relative humidity is expected to be in the range of 68 to 78 %, and 59 to 69 % respectively in South Andaman. Wind speed of 6 to 9 km/h is expected from North Easterly direction.

General / - / - / As light rainfall on 2nd, 3rd March and rest of the days rainfall has not been forecasted (28th Feb to 4th Mar, 2018) so, irrigate crops as per the requirement.
Large cardamom / Flowering Stage / - / Mulching should be done to conserve soil moisture. Weed should be clean for easy pollination.
Mandarin Orange / Vegetative stage / - / Manuring (30-40 kg FYM/ tree) should be completed within February. Mulching around the trunk should be done. Spray 0.5% boron and 0.5% zinc (zinc sulphate) after the appearance of new flush. Irrigation may be provided to the orchard as light rainfall has been forecasted on 2nd, 3rd March.
Cymbidium Orchid / Flowering stage / - / Light watering is to be done. Also ensure to cover the side shade nets in the evening.
Mustard / Siliqua Stage / - / Regularly monitor the mustard field.
Potato / Tuberization Stage / - / Field should be monitored to check the moisture status of soil and irrigation may be given as light rainfall (2nd and 3rd March) has been forecasted for coming five days.

Boro Rice / Tillering / Stem Borer / Ensure 5cm. standing water in the rice field. Installations of sex pheromone trap @ 1trap/bigha for monitoring of rice stem borer.
Mungbean / Seed collection / -- / Collect god quality mungbean seed from the any authentic source and start field preparation for mungbean sowing.
Solanaceous & cucurbitaceous / Vegetative / Sucking Pest / Control of sucking pests of solanaceous and cucurbitaceous vegetables spray chlothianidine 50WDG @ 1 gram/10 liter water with sticker @ 0.5ml/ liter water.
Amaranthus / Seed sowing / -- / Start sowing of Amaranthus in the field, for leafy vegetables purpose.
Maize / Sowing / -- / If sufficient moisture in the main field, then maize can be sown by following Zero tillage method.
Cattle / -- / wet weather / During this month there is rainfall in a number of places. Adequate measures should be taken to protect the animals from wet weather.
Fishery / Stocking fishpond / -- / Apply fish feed (mixture of rice bran and mustard oil cake in 1:1 ratio) @ 2-3% of total fish stock in the pond daily.
Terai-Teesta Alluvial Zone
General / No rainfall will occur from 28th February to 04th March.
Agriculture and Horticulture
Main Crops / Stage / Pest & Diseases / Advisory
Boro Paddy / Young seedling are to be transplanted preference 3-4 leaf stage. In case the seedlings develop brick red coloration, chelated Zn is to be sprayed @ 1g/lit. of water.
Potato/
Tomato / Early blight
Late blight / In case of development of spots on leaves apply Chlorothalonil @ 1.5g/lit. of water. If late blight appears in field then spray (Cymoxanil + Mancozeb) @ 2g/lit. of water. In case of 20% or more late blight severity apply Dimethomorph @ 1g/lit. of water, followed by application of Mancozeb 75% WP @ 2.5g/lit. of water.
Mustard / Aphid / To protect mustard from aphid infestation Thiomethoxam 0.3 SC@ 1gm/3lit. of water maybe sprayed in need.
Cabbage, Cauliflower / Root rot / Yellowing of plants due to rotting of roots should be applied with (Carbendazim + Mancozeb) @ 2g/lit. of water as soil drench adjacent to the base of plants.
Legume vegetable / vegetative / Root rot
Aphid / Apply Potassic fertilizer. For root rot apply (Carbendazim + Mancozeb) @2.0 g/ lit. of water as soil drenching. For Aphid control of Lab Lab bean apply Ash in case of lower infestation and incase of heavy infestation Thiomethoxam 0.3 SG @1g/lit. of water may be applied.
Cucurbits / Fruit fly / Mulching may be practiced. Collection and destruction of fruit fly affected fruits need to be done. Pheromone trap @ 2/bigha may be installed to manage fruit fly.

Bacterial wilt / For the management of fruit and shoot borer one application of coragen @ 4 ml/tank. Cleanliness to be maintained. Apply Thiomethoxam 0.3 SG @1G/3lit. of water in care of sucking pests infestation. For root rot yellowing of plants due to rotting of roots should be applied with (Carbendazim + Mancozeb) @ 2g/lit. of water as soil drench near the root zone. For nematode problem apply Fipronil 0.3G @1.5 Kg/Bighafollowed by a light Irrigation. Stop irrigation if plants show wilting within 2-3 days. Apply irrigation as and when required, mixed with bleaching powder @ 2kg/bigha.

Animal Husbandry and Fishery

Cattle and
Buffalo / FMD & POX / Seasonal variation may cause outbreak of FMD & POX in large ruminants. Vaccination against these diseases (self/through ARD Dept.) Will ensure better health and production. Anthelminitics of course for animals in proper doses is admissible for better production potentials. Sanitary measures in the cattle shed ensure better health.
Chicken / pox / Care for day old chiks with proper brooding. Proper ventilation and brooding arrangement reduce the mortality. Immunization against ND (Ranikhet) & pox to all age group of birds is advisable.
Sheep and Goat / Pox virus and PPR / The deadly disease PPR (Pest de petits ruminants) leads to havoc mortality in small ruminants. Precautionary vaccination may be enhance immunity and control the chance of morbidity. Small ruminants are also prone to pox virus. Timely measures (vaccination) ensure less morbidity and mortality. Deworming with specified dose is recommended.

Blast / Remove the weeds by hand weeding in the field and Keep the bunds clean. Maintain the water level upto 2 cm in the field. Apply 7.3 kg Urea per bigha at 20 days after transplanting.
Aviod excess nitrogen application. Spray Tricyclozole 75WP@ 1g/lit of water.
Wheat / Dough stage / --- / It is the final growth stage of the crop. Give light irrigation.
Groundnut / Vegetative / Weeds / Remove the weeds in the field by hand weeding. When the crop at the age of 25 DAS, apply 2 kg Urea and 6 kg MOP per bigha.
Potato / Tuber bulking / Late blight / Give light irrigation to the crop. Apply Mancozeb @ 2.5g/lit of water at an interval of 5-7 days.
Pointed gourd / Vegetative stage / Downy mildew / Apply Ridomil@2g/lit of water at late afternoon.
Fishery / Fishery Management: 1. For any bacterial disease infection Dip treatment of fish in Copper sulphate @5mg/lit of water for 1 minute. 2. Broadcast 6-7g potassium permanganate for decimal water body for continue 7 days at night.
General / Crop coverage is very less and soil is mildly dry in condition. Air temperatures are increased slightly and irrigation may be provided to the standing crops.
Andaman & Nicobar Islands
