16-085 RESIGNATION - HENDERSON Mr. Stockham motioned to accept the resignation of Cassandra Henderson as elementary instructor. Seconded by Mrs. Jenkins, and upon a roll call vote: Mr. Cutler YEA, Mrs. Jenkins YEA, Mr. Smith ABSENT, Mr. Stockham YEA, and Mr. Wooldridge YEA.
16-086 SUPPLEMENTAL CONTRACTS Mr. Cutler motioned to approve the attached list of supplemental contracts for the 2016-17 school year. Seconded by Mr. Stockham, and upon a roll call vote: Mr. Cutler YEA, Mrs. Jenkins YEA, Mr. Smith ABSENT, Mr. Stockham YEA, and Mr. Wooldridge YEA.
16-087 EMPLOY BUS DRIVERS Mrs. Jenkins motioned to employ Kelli Crabtree and Ray Mullins as full-time bus drivers. Seconded by Mr. Stockham, and upon a roll call vote: Mr. Cutler YEA, Mrs. Jenkins YEA, Mr. Smith ABSENT, Mr. Stockham YEA, and Mr. Wooldridge YEA.
16-088 CLASSIFIED SUBS Mr. Cutler motioned to employ Erykah Scott, Misty Goheen and Angela Hamm as classified substitute employees. Seconded by Mr. Stockham, and upon a roll call vote: Mr. Cutler YEA, Mrs. Jenkins YEA, Mr. Smith ABSENT, Mr. Stockham YEA, and Mr. Wooldridge YEA.
16-089 AMATO CONTRACT Mr. Stockham motioned to issue a 5-year contract to Josh Amato as district technology coordinator. Seconded by Mrs. Jenkins, and upon a roll call vote: Mr. Cutler YEA, Mrs. Jenkins YEA, Mr. Smith ABSENT, Mr. Stockham YEA, and Mr. Wooldridge YEA.
Dr. Burkitt discussed the possibility of creating a teaching position for a new agriculture program for students at PHS for next school year. It is important to create it and bid it as soon as possible because it will be difficult to find someone with the correct certification.
16-090 AG PROGRAM Mr. Stockham motioned to create a new teacher position for agriculture at PHS. Seconded by Mrs. Jenkins, and upon a roll call vote: Mr. Cutler YEA, Mrs. Jenkins YEA, Mr. Smith ABSENT, Mr. Stockham YEA, and Mr. Wooldridge YEA.
16-091 TABLE CALENDAR Mr. Stockham motioned to table discussion of calamity days and the 2016-17 school calendar indefinitely. Seconded by Mrs. Jenkins, and upon a roll call vote: Mr. Cutler YEA, Mrs. Jenkins YEA, Mr. Smith ABSENT, Mr. Stockham YEA, and Mr. Wooldridge YEA.
Dr. Burkitt provided an update on the Jasper bridge project. He is waiting on a counter proposal from the State’s consultant regarding the sale of land. There is a small window of time left to complete the required paperwork.
16-092 GRANT AUTHORITY Mr. Stockham motioned to grant Supt. Burkitt the authority to negotiate and sign documents on behalf of the Board with regard to the Jasper Bridge Project. Seconded by Mr. Cutler, and upon a roll call vote: Mr. Cutler YEA, Mrs. Jenkins YEA, Mr. Smith ABSENT, Mr. Stockham YEA, and Mr. Wooldridge YEA.
16-093 DONATIONS Mrs. Jenkins motioned to accept the following donations for use by the prom committee:
