ADVANCED STREET LIGHTS CONTROLLING SYSTEM THROUGH SMART PHONE

Abstract:

In this present world day by power usage is increasing but power sources are not increasing to generate enough power for our needs. So it is compulsory for everyone to eliminate power waste methods. One of power wasting applications is present street light control system, in this many times the operator forgets to switch off the lights even after morning also and we do not have option to switch on only few lights at mid nights as density of people is less at that time. And in present system we need lot of man power. We can eliminate this power wastage and reduce man power with latest technologies that are coming out today.

Especially in mobile field so many application are being developed to give us more information and entertainment. This project is designed with combination of two latest and most demanding technologies that are Smart phone and Embedded Systems

ASmart phoneis amobile phonebuilt on amobile operating system, with more advanced computing capability and connectivity than afeature phoneThe first smart phones combined the functions of apersonal digital assistant(PDA) with a mobile phone. Later models added the functionality ofportable media players, low-endcompactcameras, pocket, andGPSnavigation units to form one multi-use device. Many modern Smartphone’s also include high-resolutiontouch screensandweb browsersthat display standard web pages as well asmobile-optimizedsites. High-speed data access is provided byWi-FiandBroadband.

With present phones like smart phones we can browse everything from mobile itself.

.In this project we will create an application to control street lights from webpage. This web page can be opened from anywhere using mobile or computer. In this web page we have some options or buttons to control the street lights, whenever we operate this application then it sends command to controlling system through internet link

At controlling system side we have Ethernet module, micro controller and load controlling circuits. Whenever this Ethernet module receives command from its web application then it transfers this command to micro controller. Micro controller will control the respective loads depends upon the command it received

This is very safe and secure and also we can control many loads without getting confused by adding names or images in the application. We can also control many streets from single applications by providing data into servers.
