Reminder: Jo Ann reminded everyone that they are to attend the Mandatory Workshop on Classified Evaluation on May 6th at 9:00 am. Managers are scheduled for the first half of the morning and faculty are for the second half.

v  Jo Ann:

Ø  May 18 and 19 Jo Ann will be at ACBO meeting in Sacramento.

Ø  May 19, Bob will attend Bond Oversight Committee meeting for Jo Ann.

Ø  There was approval on the following Administrative Services Unit Plan items:

1.  ITS

a.  Approval of the onetime fund for faculty laptops.

b.  Approval on the data cabling for the library;

c.  Approval for infrastructure, software licensing and computer labs.

2.  Police

a.  Approval of 2 cars.

b.  Mobil Data Computer systems for 9 cars.

c.  Key control software program.

3.  Facilities

a.  Approval for custodian (recruitment can start immediately).

b.  Building Automation Technician. Position description will go to the May board.

4.  Fiscal Services

a.  Approval for increased hourly worker budget.

Committee Reports/Division Issues:

v  Mike:

1.  Last Monday there was a break in at the Facilities yard, some copper wire and tools were stolen.

2.  Planning a sting operation on the Manhattan crosswalk.

v  Bob:

Ø  In the process of upgrading parking lot lights. Process will begin in about eight months.

Ø  Discussions are in progress for cell phone coverage on campus. Proposal in three to four weeks.

v  Janice:

Ø  Auditors will arrive next week.

Ø  Calls still coming in on CoTOP collection.

Ø  Registration will start in a month.

Ø  Two fee payment deadlines for summer session.

v  Tom B:

Ø  Phase 2 of the signage for campus is going to Bid.

Ø  Social Science building Bid will close on May 20th..

Ø  Football field preparation for graduation begins.

Ø  Working with Bruce on the logistics for graduation since construction is occurring all over.

Ø  South Gym will be used for graduation instead of North.

v  Babs:

Ø  Waiting for response from Compton regarding Audit findings on the credit card, revolving cash and bursar’s office.

Ø  Waiting for written response from Compton CDC regarding Audit findings.

Ø  Working on getting information on who has physical position of the gas card at ECC.

v  Tom C:

Ø  Process of cleaning files for the move to new location.

v  Bruce:

Ø  Sod going in on the west side of the library next week.

Ø  First floor of the Bookstore will be done by Friday.

Ø  Second floor of the Bookstore will be done by middle of June for Fiscal and Business Services to move, in September.

Ø  Marsee Auditorium work will be done by May 20th.

Ø  Scheduling for chilled water and heat.

v  John:

Ø  The IT building is being remodeled and when finished will be a self-contained, secure, IT showplace of best practices.

Ø  John and Bob discussed having a series of meetings to ensure that ECC’s ITS facility is similarly housed and protected
