A summary of each activity requirements and the first day of class overview -

COURSE OBJECTIVE: Minnesota is a land rich with diversity. Students will explore the state's people, landscape, natural resources, rural issues, economic opportunities and many other aspects of Minnesota. The class will examine regional and topical issues to develop and understanding of what makes Minnesota unique. This will be accomplished through class discussions, hands-on activities, internet searches and readings.

STUDENT EXPECTATIONS

-You are expected to attend each class.

-If you miss more than two classes, do not expect to pass

-Materials not in your text are presented each week.

-Review the weekly activities and printouts (downloads) indicated on the outline above.

-You need to print out exercise questions for the week from the outline above.

-In class exercises are due that day

-Quizzes are due one week after assigned before class begins (scan-tron sheet turned in)

-Video / Concept Power Points are due dates are on the web site (typically the day of the in-class topic)

-Put Video ppts in the website drop box (last name - topic)

-Exercises, Activities or Quizzes turned in or taken late will earn fewer points.

-Technical issues will not be acceptable as an excuse unless the problem source is the college network

-Students absent for good cause will be able to turn in assignments or take quizzes late. Good cause

is evaluated on an individual basis by the instructor. Notify me in advance of absence by e-mail.
