Mound City R-2 BOE Report-----
A public hearing was held to discuss and approve the Capital Facilities Lease Financing through the Missouri Association of Rural Education. LJ Hart was approved as the financing consultant.
In the communication section, Seniors Taylor Coker and Hayden Marrs presented information on the activities for National Honor Society. Colton Smith, Hayden Marrs and Chandler Wilson presented as captains of the football team. The board listened to Dave Villines (construction manager for the building project) interpret the building plans for the HVAC system, elevator and multipurpose room. A pre-bid meeting is scheduled for December 2 to explain the removal of the existing retaining wall. The wall removal will be scheduled for early January. The board also reviewed the Library Media Center evaluation and discussed the Drug Free Schools report. Thank you cards were read from the Miles’ Family and the MC Cross Country team.
The consent agenda approved holding a board election on April 7th, 2015.
Approval was granted for Mrs. Laura Forehand to help Mr. Reiter and the district by being the Assistant Scholar Bowl Coach.
Mrs. Seitz reported on the parent/teacher conferences. The elementary participation was up and middle school was slightly lower. The attendance rates are steady thus far and the Veterans Day assembly was excellent with several staff members doing an outstanding job of organizing the event spearheaded by Mrs. Debi Clifton. The professional development plans are coming along with half of the staff as part of the new evaluation system.
Mr. Miles mentioned that 94% of the high school students are on the honor roll! Parent/teachers conference participation was slightly down from 65% to 59%. The four core teachers are in the second year of collaborative professional development one day per month. These teachers meet with seven other schools’ teachers in their core area to focus on similar assessments.
Mr. Eaton mentioned the 100 year celebration plans are continuing.

The board approved the minutes of the May and August meetings. Preliminary teacher evaluations were also discussed. Meeting adjourned at 8:01 p.m.
