RETIRED EMPLOYEE RESIDENTIAL SERVICE
AVAILABILITY
This rate is available for Retired Employee Residential Service taken on a continuous yearround basis at one point of delivery. Service may be taken for a shorter period subject to the provisions of the shortterm service charge.
This rate will apply to retirees who retired prior to January 1, 1982. This rate shall apply on the single service where the retiree actually resides. This rate may also be applied at a retiree's seasonal residence that is used for the occupancy of the retiree.
CHARACTER OF SERVICE
Service will be single phase, alternating current, 60 hertz, furnished at one standard secondary distribution voltage as described in the Company's Handbook of Requirements for Electric Service and Meter Installations.
BASIC RATE PER MONTH
The retiree's bill will be computed using the basic rate below.
$11.00 / for the first 50 kWh or less$0.045556 / per kWh for all kWh in excess of above
TRANSMISSION CHARGE
The transmission charges in accordance with Subsection 44.1 of the Terms & Conditions are included in the above rates.
EFFICIENCY MAINE TRUST ASSESSMENT CHARGE
The Efficiency Maine Trust assessment charges in accordance with Subsection 49.1 of the Terms
& Conditions are included in the above rates.

SHORT-TERM SERVICE CHARGE
Retirees who take shortterm service will be billed for the first three months, or fraction thereof, $33.00 per month in addition to the regular monthly electric service rate (including the monthly minimum charge). A customer will be billed for no fewer than three consecutive months of short-term service.
A credit equal to oneninth of the amount of shortterm service charges billed during the first three months of shortterm service will be applied to a shortterm retiree's bill for each month, or fraction thereof, that the shortterm retiree's term of service exceeds three months. In no case will the total amount of such credits exceed the total amount of shortterm service charges billed.
When seasonal service retirees take service for less than twelve consecutive months, they will be considered to be shortterm customers and their final bills will be adjusted to include any unbilled shortterm service charges and credits.
MINIMUM CHARGE
$11.00 per month plus any charges due for shortterm service. The retiree discount does not apply to the minimum charge.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
1.Multiple Dwelling Units Served Through One Meter.
This rate will be applied on a per unit basis when more than one residential dwelling is served through one meter.
2.Loads of Intermittent, Irregular, or Occasional Use
Energy may be delivered under this rate for service to equipment which is used only intermittently, irregularly or occasionally, provided the Company's distribution facilities are, in the judgment of the Company, suitable for the service requested. Where such capacity and facilities do not already exist, the Company may require separately metered service for such loads.
