1975-Jun: BCJSA granted 501(c)(3) status from the Internal Revenue Service. In addition, BCJSA is not a private foundation within the meaning of section 509(a) of the Internal Revenue Code because BCJSA is an organization described in section509(a)(2).

1993-Nov: Board Decision that any team that wishes to purchase their own special, unique uniforms instead of wearing the Bear Creek league issued uniforms may do so and the colors of those uniforms must represent the colors of the Bear Creek Association, green, gold, gray, andwhite.

1995-Jan: Registration fees: Soccer ($50); Midget Baseball ($60); Midget Softball ($60); Softball ($77); Football ($85); Basketball ($95); Baseball ($90 & $95 & $125)

1995-Feb: Board voted to not allow advertising in the monthlynewsletter.

1996-Aug: Liability & Accident Insurance policy obtained for all players at $5 each. 1996-Sep: Board decided not to do anymore business with Denver Athletic due to them turning over an unpaid football bill to a collection agency. Football was disputing the bill. 1997-Mar: Board again voted to not allow advertising in the monthlynewsletter.

1997-Jun: A bone marrow drive for Ryan Burke is held at Schaefer Complex. In May, the Board approved a $500 donation for the drive.

1997-Jul: Lakewood fees increase to $6 per player from $2 perplayer.

1997-Jul: Board approves a “trial” season of Fall Midget Baseball. Cindy Longmire was appointed to run thisseason.

1998-Feb: Blue shed internal build-out completed. The shed has 4 separate roomsnow.

1998-Feb: BCJSA submits request to Foothills for a flag pole at Schaefer in memory of Ryan Burke – Foothills approves.

1998-Mar: BCJSA Midget Baseball attempts to organize an 8 yr-old kid-pitch league, but only 2 registrations were turnedin.

1998-May: Board approved $1,500 donation to help with the Ryan Burke Memorial Plaza at Schaefer. Construction was completed and dedicated on July 25,1998.

1998-Oct: Capital Reserve Fund created. Each player contributes $5 perregistration.

1999-Jan: BCJSA books converted tosoftware

1999-Sep: BCJSA’s 25thanniversary open house. Approx 450 peopleattended.

1999-Nov: Vote approved to increase Association fee from $4.50 to $5.00 perregistration.

2000-Feb: Archery being added as a sport to BCJSA is notapproved.

2000-Mar: President Dan Luenberger resigns due to work travel and not enough time to devote to association matters. Cindy Anderson (President-Elect) voted in as President and Ken Waller voted in as newPresident-Elect.

2000-June: A proposal to add a 20’ extension on the east end of the blue shed is rejected due to cost ($16,000).

2000-Sep: Petition from membership to remove the BCJSA President was presented to the board. In October, the board voted against theproposal.

2000-Sep: First time Butterbraid was proposed as a fundraiser idea toboard.

2000-Nov: Foothills bond issue 5A & 5B passed. First bond Foothills has proposed in 20 years. Priority for Foothills is Lilly Gulch, Clement skate park, andmore.

2000-Nov: Started using Weiland for basketball practice &games.

2001-Jan: First BCJSA website set up by Carol Leuenberger. Automated phone calling system set up (cost $2000; $300 persport).

2001-Apr: Dyanne Pritchett proposes Volleyball as a BCJSA sport (not voted on). 2001-Jun: Board approved partnering Fall Baseball with Slammers for a Fall wood bat league.

2001-Jun: BCJSA sign is put on BlueShed.

2001-Jul: Foothills communicates new fee structure – eliminating the per-player fee and implementing a per-fieldfee.

2001-Sep: Board approves paying for cell phones for alldirectors.

2001-Oct: Vote approved to increase Capital Reserve fee from $5.00 to $10.00 per registration.

2002-Jan: City of Lakewood approved to build Jefferson Green baseball field. 50% of funding (approx. $15,000) from BCJSA, 50% from Lakewood.To be complete by April of this year(2002).

2002-Apr: Board approves renting office space atSlammers.

2003-Feb: Foothills & Jeffco announce fields can not be used until mid-March due to drought.

2003-Aug: GS Network Solutions contracted to maintain website and make requested changes.

2003-Oct: Board approves $14,000 from Capital Reserve to pay for Gold Crown court time for basketball (for next 10years?).

2004-May: Board approves to receive online registrations with creditcard.

2004-Oct: Board approves $5,000 from Capital Reserve Fund to replace Blue Shed sign with a larger, lightedsign.

2004-Nov: BCJSA receives a copier, donated by ColoradoBank.

2004-Nov: Board approves to collect $1 per registration to be put toward the BCJSA Scholarship Fund beginning in Jan 2005.

2005-Jan: Board approves $32,000 from Capital Reserve fund for 3 batting cages to be built at Schaefer ($24,500 for 2 baseball cages; $7,500 for 1 softball cage).

2005-Mar: BCJSA batting cages completed (only 2 cages though at a cost of $28,500).

2005-Aug: New Blue Shed signcompleted.

2005-Aug: New online registration and sports management software (SportsManager) set up for the association to use. First time credit cards online areused.

2006-Feb: Board approves $?? (Amt not documented) from Capital Reserve fund for soccer to rent the new indoorfacility.

2006-Mar: Board approves $3,500 from Capital Reserve fund for midget baseball to help fund Westgate upgrades (replace fences & coverdugouts).

2006-Jun: BCJSA decides to terminate Fall Ball relationship with Slammers and team up with South Jeffco thisseason.

2012 – BCJSA decides to combine Midget and Junior baseball, as well as Flag with Tackle football, and add the Tiny Mites Program. That year we also added golf, while losing the volleyball program to the highsschool.

2013 – Mandatory Sex Abuse Awareness training for All Executive Board members and offered for all members. Added the Website position back in by majorityvote.
