BRADBURY LODGE, TAI MEI TUK
The first youth hostel opened in Hong Kong commenced operation in November 1974 in a hut that had been erected by contractors during the construction of the Plover Cove Reservoir. The funds required to convert this building into a 120 bed hostel were provided by a grant of HKD 100,000 from the Hongkong & Shanghai Banking Corporation to mark the establishment of their 100th branch in the territory. Known as Wayfoong Hall, this hostel remained in use until demolition in the late 1980s. /Photo Gallery
In its place, a new purpose built hostel was opened on 24 September 1993 by the Association's Patron, the Rt. Hon. Christopher Patten. The capital cost of this, our latest and most modern hostel, was met by the Bradbury Charitable Trust Fund after which the building was named upon completion.

Compare with other hostels, this one has more facilities. There is a large public BBQ area near the Hostel. The water sport center is the most attractive thing. It also has a brilliant view of the Pat Sin Leng Ranges and the Plover Cove. I’ve never seen a beautiful sunset, so I’d like to see the enchanting sunset. It’s important that if I don’t need to take a long time to reach the hostel. And this hostel is just right for me.
