Job Description:Perform licensing and supervision duties as outlined below. Assist Administrative Director with the referral and placement process. Reports directly to Administrative Director to work collaboratively inlicensing homes and supervisingCase Workers to achieve agency mission and goals.
Licensing dutiesinclude but are not limited to:
  • Meet with prospective foster parents and educate applicants on fostering expectations
  • Complete home studies, reviews, mid years, amendments, re-certifications and any necessary requirements related to foster homes and foster children as necessary & obtain required authorization
  • Assistfoster parents in scheduling required trainings as needed
  • Provide support and guidance to foster parents and assist them in completing required paperwork as needed
  • Enforce compliance of foster families with Kids Count Too and ODJFS policies, procedures and rules
  • Complete foster home investigations, cite rule violations, and implement corrective action plans when out of compliance
  • Conduct ODJFS rules; KCT Policy and Procedure training for pre-service
  • Promote KCT foster care and adoption program through attending various community events/activities
Supervision duties include but are not limited to:
  • Provide direct supervision of Caseworkers by working with Administrative Director
  • Participate in conducting Case Worker interviews, screenings, trainings, and evaluations
  • Provide support and guidance to Case Workers by reviewing weekly case notes and ensuring complete, timely, accurate documentation
  • Assist in ensuring all required documentation for KCT foster youth files are provided to the Office Manager
  • Conduct weekly staffing with Case Workers and update the Administrator of pertinent information as appropriate
  • Create the on call rotation schedule and support Staff with on-call problem solving interventions
  • Participate in the on call rotation
  • Provide backup for Case Workers (i.e. attend court, meetings, home visits, etc. case workers are unable to attend)
  • Attend foster parent monthly trainings and ensure Case Workers’ youth group activities are planned in advance
  • Assist Case Workers in identifying resources specific to the treatment focus of foster youth in the KCT network
  • Provide backup to the Administrative Director by assisting in the referral process
Other duties include but are not limited to:
  • Attend agency activities and professional training sessions as requested by Administrator
  • Complies with all MEPA requirements set forth by the agency and reports all MEPA concerns/violations to the Administrative Director or designee immediately
  • Maintain CEU's required to keep LSW current and Maintain Assessor Tier I and Tier II requirements
  • Maintain a professional working relationship with management, staff, families, children and affiliations/networks associated with the agency
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Administrator
Skills/Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree,LSW, Assessor Tier Trainings, Ability to train, motivate, mentor, lead, guide, direct, build rapport, problem solve. Possess effective communication skills both orally and written. Knowledge of Child Welfare System, work collaboratively with County Agencies and other service providers. Understanding of child development, behavior & discipline, interdisciplinary effects of foster youth and their caregivers. Possess a general knowledge of trauma and implications of trauma. Adhere to and enforce KCT policy and procedures, regulations and other laws applicable to private foster care agency.
