A RESOLUTION adjourning the House of Representatives in honor of Kevin Damron, Deputy State Highway Engineer for Project Development, upon his retirement.
WHEREAS, Kevin Damron graduated from the University of Kentucky in 1986 with a B.S. in Civil Engineering; and
WHEREAS, along with his twin brother, Keith, Kevin Damron began his distinguished career with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet in the Division of Highway Design CADD Section, working under Bill Gulick on the implementation of the critical design programs MicroStation and InRoads; and
WHEREAS, Kevin Damron returned home to Pike County in 1991, and in 2008 he became Chief District Engineer of District 12. In that esteemed capacity, he was involved with the reconstruction of U.S. 119 and U.S. 460 of the Appalachian Development Highway System in Pike and Letcher Counties; and
WHEREAS, during his career with this Commonwealth, Kevin Damron has served with honor and distinction. He was a charter member of KEEN, the Kentucky Engineering Exposure Network. The Kentucky Association of Transportation Employees named him Engineer of the Year in 2009, and in 2010 he was rightfully appointed Deputy State Highway Engineer for Project Development; and
WHEREAS, this honorable body commends those Kentuckians who work for this Commonwealth to improve the lives of its citizens and to make our communities better. Kevin Damron is one such Kentuckian, and for his 27 years of exemplary state service this body congratulates him upon his retirement; thanks him for the diligent work he has put in to make this Commonwealth a better and safer place to live and to travel; and acknowledges his loving family—his wife of 29 years, Darlene, and his children, Makayla and Kennedy—for their constant and faithful support;
NOW, THEREFORE,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:
âSection 1. The House of Representatives hereby honors Kevin Damron, Deputy State Highway Engineer for Project Development, upon his retirement following a 27-year career with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, and wishes him the best of luck as he embarks upon this new chapter of his life.
âSection 2. When the House of Representatives adjourns this day, it does so in honor of Kevin Damron.
âSection 3. The Clerk of the House of Representatives is directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to Representative Keith Hall for delivery.
