CONDITIONS OF ENTRY

1. The Embassy Fashion Prize sponsored by the Embassy of Spain in Canberra aims to provide Australian artists and artists of other nationalities who are resident in Australia with the opportunity to carry out an artistic project.

2. The project must comply with the requirements hereto established that will somehow always be associated with the Embassy, at the Embassy or for the Embassy.

3. The project for this round of applications is one of public art and consists in creating a mural, painting or graffiti on one of the lateral walls of the building of the Chancellery of the Embassy of Spain in Canberra (15, Arkana Street, Yarralumla, ACT 2600). The measurements of the wall are 9 x 6 metres and it should be taken into account that an existing A/C box should be included in the project design.

4. The Embassy Fashion Prize is open to Australian artists and artists of other nationalities who are permanent residents in Australia. There is no age limit.

5. To take part, interested candidates must fill in the appropriate form that can be downloaded from http://www.exteriores.gob.es/Embajadas/CANBERRA/en/Embajada/Pages/CentrosCulturales.aspx

The form must be accompanied by a sketch of the proposed project or even photomontage on the image of the wall of the Chancellery, which can be downloaded from the above mentioned link as well. Included in their application, candidates should provide a link where their previous work can be viewed and a CV.

6. The prize will cover the cost of carrying out the project. Therefore, applicants must submit a list of technical requirements and a disaggregated estimate of the cost of carrying out their proposed project.

The prize does not cover the participation of any assistant.

7. If the artist selected resides outside the ACT, the cost of travel and accommodation in Canberra will be covered for the duration of the project. Therefore, an estimate of the time needed to complete the project should be included in the application form. The Embassy will agree with the winner on the best time and number of days necessary to complete the project. Beginning of September might be a suitable time and the number of days should not go beyond 7 days ideally.

8. Besides covering the cost of carrying out the project, the winner will receive the amount of 1,000 AUD upon completion and an Embassy declaration of conformity.

9. The theme of the project is free. However, given that this is a public art project, themes that may be considered offensive in any way will not be accepted.

10. The jury will consist of the Ambassador of Spain in Canberra, the Head of Cultural Affairs of the Embassy of Spain in Canberra and the Administrative Attaché of the Embassy of Spain in Canberra.

The decision of the jury will be final.

11. Should the winner be unable to accept the prize, two other projects will be selected in order of preference.

12. Interested candidates can send their application form to on or before July 15th 2015 (Due date). In order to avoid technical malfunctions with the mail system, it is recommended not to wait until the last day.

13. The jury will select the winner within a month following the applications closing date. All applicants, successful and unsuccessful, will receive email notifications.

14. The winner will have ten (10) days to accept the prize in writing via email to

- Signed application form.

- Scanned copy of Australian passport or proof of permanent residency in Australia and passport.

- CV.

- Sketch of the work (Max. 2MB).

All these documents must be sent to on or before July 15th 2015.

All applications will receive an acknowledgement of receipt.
