The Ohio Senior Circuit’s intent is to promote excellence within the ranks of Ohio Swimming. The purpose is to provide a venue for those swimmers aspiring to attain Sectional and National qualifying times, but also to give all Senior swimmers within Ohio the opportunity to participate in a high quality competitive meet with shorter preliminary sessions and more opportunities to swim at night. The Ohio Senior Circuit Championships are open to all swimmers who meet the following criteria;
  1. All 15 & over athletes who have achieved the meet time standards
  2. All 14 year old swimmers who have achieved the 2012SUMMER Central Zone sectional time standards.
  3. Ohio Swimmers will get first priority into the meet in the event that a preliminary session begins to exceed 2 ½ hours.
The Creekside Blues & Jazz Blast is open to all swimmers but is truly designed to service the swimmers of central Ohio first and foremost as this provides these swimmers with the only local meet which does not have qualifying time standards. As such, central Ohio teams are given first priority to enter this meet. Those teams from outside central Ohio who have supported this meet in the past will be given equal priority for entry into this event although any team is welcomed to enter in the event that any of the preceding teams do not enter and leave room available for others.
1. The meet will be governed by current USA Swimming & Ohio Swimming rules and regulations. By the act of entering, each team, coach and swimmer agrees to abide by these rules and regulations.
2. All coaches, officials, and participating teams must be registered members of USA Swimming (USAS). All coaches on deck must join USA Swimming as “coach members”. No coach shall be permitted on the pool deck unless that coach is a valid “coach member” of USA Swimming with all his/her certifications current. It is required at all Ohio USAS sanctioned meets that the coaches present and wear their USA Swimming membership card.
3. All participants must be currently registered USA Swimming athletes. Team entries must contain the USA Swimming registration number of all participants being entered. There will be no USA Swimming registrations accepted at the meet.
4. Any swimmer entered in the meet who is unaccompanied by a USA Swimming coach member must be certified by a USA Swimming coach member as being proficient in performing a racing start or must race from within the water. This may be done prior to the meet by having that coach member contact the meet director or may be also be done on-site by another USA Swimming coach member. It is the responsibility of the swimmer or the swimmer’s legal guardian to ensure compliance with this requirement.
5. The swimmer’s age the first day of competition will determine their eligibility for the meet.
6. Ohio Swimming, Inc safety guidelines and warm-up procedures will be in effect at this meet. See “Warm-Up Procedures” for a detailed description of these procedures as they relate to each session of this meet.
7. GCSTO reserves the right to be able to enter any 15 & over who does not meet the qualifying standard of the AM session of the senior circuit portion of the meet to ensure that we have enough workers for that session of the meet.
8. No deck changing will be allowed. Any athlete found to be deck changing will be removed from the meet.
9. It shall be the swimmers’ and coaches’ responsibility to acquaint themselves with all of the information contained in this meet information book.
10. ATHLETE PRIVACY PRESERVATION: Use of audio or visual recording devices, including a cell phone, is not permitted in changing areas, rest rooms, or locker rooms.
Swimmers with a disability are welcomed to enter OSI Meets. Entry procedures are the same as for all other swimmers. Please provide advance notice of any necessary accommodations needed by the swimmer. List with your entry the swimmer’s name, entry times, strokes/distances, days/sessions, and how the swimmer prefers to be seeded. Disability swimmers will be seeded with the same age group in either the same distance race or a longer distance race (i.e. 50 free during the 100 free event). Qualifying time standards at regular season meets are waived for swimmers with a disability. At Ohio Swimming Championship Meets swimmers with a disability may enter if they qualify in at least one event for the US Paralympic National Championships. At the Central Zone Meet four swimmers with a disability are welcome on the Ohio Zone Team without meeting the qualifying time standards. More information is available under “Adapted Swimming” on the Ohio Swimming web site (
1. Entry times for both portions of this meet will be seeded long course meters, short course yards, and then short course meters, and shall be times achieved since January 1, 2011. While there are qualifying time standards for the Senior Circuit portion of the meet there are no qualifying time standards (upper or lower) for the Creekside Meet. Times cannot be updated once received and telephone entries cannot be accepted. All entries must be in a compatible SD3 format. In order to help with having the most accurate timeline possible in the Creekside Meet portion, please DO NOT TO ENTER ANY "NT’s" (NO TIMES) FOR SWIMMERS. Instead, use a conversion of a short course yard time or BEST "guess"timate of your swimmers times without exception please.
2. We expect this to be a very large meet and, as such, have taken steps to allow us to speed up meet operations. Positive check in will be required for ALL EVENTS in all preliminary and all timed final sessions of this meet. As well, male and female athletes will be seeded together in all preliminary sessions and all timed final sessions of this meet. Finals session will then be swum as separate gender events. In the timed final portions of this meet we will also seed different age groups together according to their entry time in each of those events. Open lanes and extra heats in a long course meet can add a significant amount of time onto a session each day thus the reason for the institution of these procedures.
3. Entry fees must be paid by the first day of the meet. The entry for each individual must include the swimmer's name, current USA number (all digits), and team affiliation. All relay swimmers must be entered in the meet prior to the first day of competition.SWIMMERS SHALL NOT COMPETE IN THIS MEET IF THEIR ENTRY FEES ARE NOT PAID TO THE MEET HOST PRIOR TO THE START OF THE MEET.
4. All swimmers must enter under an USA Swimming team affiliation or as unattached.
5. Bonus Swims: Swimmers who enter the meet must have achieved an automatic time standard are eligible to swim bonus swims under the following formula:
1 Automatic Cut = 3 Bonus Swims 2 Automatic Cuts = 3 Bonus Swims
3 Automatic Cuts = 3 Bonus Swims.
All bonus swims must be faster than the bonus event time standard.
