Paper Airplane
LAB REPORT - Pre Format
Purpose:Question: Can a paper airplane be crafted to measure speed?
Lab Overview:
Your goal is to build a paper airplane with the slowest speed in 3 tries.
You will measure the time of flight and distance traveled.
Then, calculate the average speed of your plane.
Abstract:
Speed is the ratio of distance an object moves to the amount of time the object moves. Speed = Distance
Time
Average speed is computed for the entire duration of a trip. Measurement may be the results of either Displacement or Distance. The results generally are different.
Displacement is the total distance from the start to the end of the path in one direction.
Distance is the total distance for each direction of the path.

On the graph below, plot a line graph representing the speed of your airplane . Plot Flight Trials 1-4 on the x-axis. Plot the Average speed of each trial on the y-axis. Be sure to title your graph and label the axes and the graph line.
Data Analysis: Look at the table and graph. Explain the data you see.
DISCUSSION:
(review your discussion questions and place info here, use data AGAIN to prove your conclusion. Rephrase your data analysis)
Identification of Errors: Were there any errors in the procedure, ie, measuring, take-up, recording of data, problems to make it a quality test run etc. )
Improvements to procedure: Explain how to this experiment can be improved.
