The Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Informatization and Communication, Astana, announces that on 2526November 2006, in the city of Almaty, telecommunication networks were transferred to seven-digit numbering through the introduction of 2XXXXXX and 3XXXXXX zones.
The 2XXXXXX zone comprises current subscribers, whose existing six-digit subscriber number is now preceded by the digit “2”, i.e. (327) 2XX XXXX. At the same time, a 3XX XXXX zone has been opened in Almaty’s telecommunication network for new subscribers, whose number will take the form (327) 3XX XXXX.
