From the President – Pres. Kim told us that Lauren, granddaughter of Jack Daniels, is the Hawaii Cherry Blossom Princess for the National Cherry Blossom Festival.Lorna Danielsinvites Rotarians to Lauren's "coronation" on Saturday, March 21 at 6:30 at the Ft. Myer Officers Club (cost $30.00).Send your checks to Lorna by March 13th payable to the Hawaii State Society.

From International Service – Joe Lott told us our sister club in Rheims, France proposed buying an ultrasound machine for the Lebanese Red Cross. A meeting is scheduled to review the proposal.

Michael Ba said attendance at the meeting was good and there are three weeks before the India team arrives. If you can help, contact Michael.

HAPPY TALK: Grant Clowery confessed his exuberance for Flag Day two weeks ago was an error as it was Flag Day in Mexico. Walter Webdale is celebrating 10 years in Arlington, Jim Irving was thankful that his daughter made the high school Varsity Softball team, Henk Knipscheer attended Rotary makeups in Africa at Freetown Sierra Leone and Bujumbura, Burundi (got a Rotary Flag) and Tanganyika Rotary Club. Henk added Rotary is working to aid people in Pakistan (for more information, see Henk), Gene Kreider enjoyed the snow and had a friend from Switzerland visit. Patty Browne is excited that her son is shopping for an Engagement Ring Linda Valentino was thankful her hairdresser’s visit to the ER proved to be nothing serious and she would be able to get her hair colored before PETS (and we had no idea), Joe Lott’s daughter is in New York auditioning to be a stage actress and Joe informed us that the Pompeii exhibit is wonderful. P.J. Maddox chipped in saying how happy and proud she is that her son was accepted at Bishop O’Connell since he is Dyslexic. Steve Holmes agreed not to fine Grant for the Mexican Flag Day, Kim Durand announced she was in training running for a 5K and ran with her nephew who was able to out run her significantly She was also very happy that Linda is going to attend PETS.

The 50 / 50 was won by Bill Howard and Steve Holmes further enriched us with some riddles.
