JOB PURPOSE
Responsible for the development; implementation and evaluation of activities and enterprise sessions for customers within Able2-Adult Services.
- To have responsibility for the day to day co-ordination of activities/sessions and programmes of learning ensuring all are delivered within agreed budgets; consistent with appropriate legislation and the Percy Hedley Foundations Policies.
- To ensure effective communication between staff, customers, carers and other professionals.
- To ensure the delivery of high quality care and support to users in accordance with the Percy Hedley Foundations vision, mission and core values.
MAIN DUTIES
- To support the delivery of activity/enterprise sessions which are participant-centred, structured, progressive, fun and of a high quality.
- Work in collaboration with Activities and Enterprise Department and Occupational Therapy Lead to ensure activities and sessions embedded sensory outcomes/ programmes and that they are fully integrated as part of sessions for individuals who require these.
- To support on activities/enterprise matters using complex analytical and judgement skills to meet customer outcomes.
- To support the delivery of planned activity session(s) to ensure the programme demonstrates progression; outcomes throughout, linked to the principles of development.
- To support monitoring and evaluation all sessions, activities and programmes recording individual and group outcomes.
- To work in collaboration with the Activities and Enterprise Deaprtment leads to adapt sessions to cater for different ranges of abilities.
- To undertake administrative tasks associated with the post, including planning sessions, outcome monitoring; consent forms and financial policies/procedures in connection with the management of activity session delivery.
- To support the Activities and Enterprise Department Leadsfor sessions by ensuring the organisation/management of these; resources and facilities.
- To be a positive role model at all times.
- To ensure all equipmentassociated with the activity and enterprise programme is correctly arranged; maintained; stored and returned on the completion of the activity/sessions programme.
- To build positiverelationships with local and national partners and liaise with them to ensure they remain happy with the activities and enterprise programme.
- To take responsibility for their own continuous professional development (CPD) and attend relevant training courses to improve their activities and enterprise delivery.
- To be familiar and comply Health and Safety regulations and to undertake activity. Venue risk assessments prior to all sessions, and report and record incidents/accidents/hazards.
- To respect the rights of all participants and ensure that their well-being and safety are considered at all times.
- Utilise and develop a high level of interpersonal and communication skills that promote and maintain relationships with customers, their families and carers, and to help individuals to overcome any barriers to communication.
- To support the implementation of an effective quality assurance management tool to ensure continuous improvement plan for improving activities and enterprise opportunities and individual outcomes.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues directly involved in the delivery activities and enterprise programmes and will develop good working relationships and partnerships with other community resources and providers, both statutory and non-statutory.
- Provide reports, information and advice (verbal and written) to customers, professionals and Carers /Families and attend customer reviews.
- To develop and support out of hours provision for activities and enterprise sessions.
- Supporting customers with their physical; eating; drinking support l and personal care needs. Ensuring that their privacy, dignity and modesty are maintained at all times.
- To deputise for the Activities and Enterprise Department Leads in their absence.
- To work in a flexible way and undertake any other duties not specifically covered in the job description, when assigned by their line manager.
Able 2-Adult Services operates in a demanding and often changing environment. Members of staff must be flexible, adaptable, willing to face up to changing circumstances and new opportunities. - To be responsible for managing own time and workload effectively.
- To assist in the delivery of training sessions for service users, staff and external agencies as appropriate.
- To assist in the monitoring and development of service and therapy delivery.
- To deal with initial difficulties or complaints sensitively, avoiding escalation where possible.
- To demonstrate negotiation skills in the management of conflict across a range of situations, recognising potential breakdown and conflict when it occurs and seek advice and support to resolve.
- To participate in a performance management scheme that will provide personal and professional development opportunities, ensuring that objectives set reflect plans for the Percy Hedley Foundation and department.
- To be aware of and adhere to current legislation and Percy Hedley Foundation policies and procedures relating to the post.
- Support the provision of a flexible care service; this will include the provision of an out of hour’s service.
- To follow the Percy Hedley Foundation and HCPC Code of Conduct at all times.
- Adhere to thePercy Hedley FoundationHealth, Safety and Welfare policy at all times.
- Promote Health and Safety in allschemes of work.
- Carry out all activities in the best interests of the service user.
- Report all incidents and accidents to line manager or senior member of staff.
- Maintain a high standard of record keeping in line with policies and procedures and guidelines set out by CSP.
- Promote equality and advocate a positive attitude.
- Recognise that disabled people are individuals who have specific needs.
- Employ support strategies that will empower service users.
- Show awareness of knowledge and display non-discriminatory behaviours at all times in relation to culture, race, ethnicity, disability, gender, sexuality and age.
- Recognise the importance of inclusion by using appropriate means of communication at all times.
- Be flexible in order to meet the changing needs of both service user and environment.

Qualifications & Training / Dipolma in Health and Social Care Level III.
First aid certificate.
Basic Numeracy & Literacy Skills to Level 1 or equivalent.
Basic IT Skills / Activity associated degree.
Experience / Ability to design Activities and Enterprise session programmes at all levels with varied customer groups
Experience of delivering a wide range of development skills and accredited programmes.
Experience of mentoring, supporting and encouraging staff and volunteers.
Group and 1:1 activity facilitation.
Experience of completing administrative tasks relating to activities (assessment; outcomes and evaluating sessions).
