The Corrections Committee has a website!
The 3 Legacies of Alcoholics AnonymousRecovery- We learned recovery after completing the 12 steps of Alcoholics Anonymous with a sponsor. We achieved a clean conscience for the first time in a long time. This enabled us to begin to experience God’s love.
Unity- Through the 12 Traditions of Alcoholics Anonymous we learned how to get along with each other by placing the welfare of others before our own. We learned equality.
Service- We grew with God by serving others in our Home Groups, our District and our Area. (The 12 Concepts). We carried the message of our Spiritual awakening to suffering alcoholics, we attempted to reach out to them in places they might seek us.
If you’ve ever wanted to become involved in Corrections, carrying the message of Alcoholics Anonymous to those alcoholics currently incarcerated, but you thought it was too difficult to become approved or you thought a criminal record would prevent you from gaining access to the facilities…
The Corrections Committee has made it easy for you!!
Visit our new website. We have clearly laid out instructions for approval processes of each facility that we have the honor of bringing AA meetings into. Application forms are easily available for printing.
We have new meetings open at facilities and many available opportunities at each facility for sober members of District 1 (Pinellas County) to be of service to alcoholics in jail.
Visit our Committee News page to see some available openings for Facility Coordinators and Committee Officers
We also have opportunities for you entire homegroup to be of service at Pinellas Safe Harbor (homeless shelter). The group schedule for the shelter is easily accessed to view available openings on the schedule for your homegroup.
All are welcome to join us at The Corrections Committee Meeting on the 2nd Monday of every month, 6:30pm at the Intergroup Central Office located at The American Business Center 8340 Ulmerton Road, Suit 220 Largo Florida 33771
