a.Description

This work shall be done in general accordance with the MDOT 2012 Standard Specifications for Construction and shall consist of earth work, grading, placing aggregate and maintaining a temporary aggregate road as shown on the plans for local traffic access during construction.

b.Materials

Aggregate surface for temporary aggregate roads shall be as shown on plans and as specified elsewhere in this proposal book if the surface material is not an MDOT standard item.

c.Construction

To be in general accordance with the plans and typical cross-section(s) for temporary roads and Sections 205 and 306 of the 2003 Standard Specifications.

d.Measurement & Payment

Temporary Road Grading approximate quantity for fill is 273CYDand the approximate quantity for cut is 273CYD. The Temporary Road Grading Quantities are subject to change without changing the Pay Item.

All labor and equipment to strip all topsoil and vegetation, compact earth, place and compact embankment and grade temporary aggregate roads as specified above and as shown on the plans and typical cross-section shall be paid for at the contract unit price for the following:

Payment for the aggregate surface material for temporary aggregate roads will be made at the contract unit price for that item as specified on plans and elsewhere in this proposal book if the surface material is not an MDOT standard item. Payment shall be made once only for Temporary Road Grading and shall include maintenance grading when and as directed by the Engineer regardless of the number of times maintenance grading is needed. Obliteration and/or removal of temporary roads when no longer needed will be included in the standard pay item Obliterate Old Road—Station or Acre as called for on plans, except for those portions or all of the temporary road that the plans indicate to be covered by base, embankment or excavated for the final permanent road.
