ANGLICAN YOUTHWORKS

Youthworks is chartered by ordinance to assist the Sydney Anglican diocese in its ministry towards children, youth and families with the freedom to serve beyond this field (both denominationally and geographically). Youthworks therefore seeks to serve youth directly, as well as through the institutions where they may be found, namely in families, churches and schools. CHRISTIAN EDUCATION PUBLICATIONS (CEP)

The CEP division publishes Christian educational content across a variety of platforms for young people and those serving young people, including but not limited to resources for SRE ministry, Christian studies in independent schools, and church ministries. The CEP division also provides educational resources for the Sydney Diocese.

POSITION PURPOSE

This role supports the CEP team by assistingwith customer enquiries and sales procedures for CEP. This role also facilitates the smooth running of reception related administrative and operational tasks.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

CEP sales assistance

  • Provide prompt and friendly responses to all enquiries, regardless of delivery method, within designated timeframes
  • Receive sales calls and place orders accordingly
  • Identify opportunities to offer information and make product suggestions based on a

customer’s needs

  • Maintain stock in the ‘bookshop’ and process sales from the bookshop
  • Accurately maintain and keep up to date customer records within the CRM database
  • Provide customers with statements and invoices

Reception tasks

  • Servevisitors/customers/clients by greeting, welcoming, directing, answering or

referring inquiries and announcing them appropriately – in person, on the phone, and via email

  • Be the first point of contact for all visitors, clients and suppliers - greeting, welcoming,

directing, answering or referring inquiries and announcing them appropriately – in person, on the phone, and via email

  • Maintain security by following procedures and monitoring sign-in logs
  • Receive and sort daily mail, deliveries and couriers. Prepare mail for collection
  • Maintain a safe and clean reception area
  • Maintain a safe and clean office area, in particular the staffroom area
  • Prepare morning tea once per week
  • Action relevant orders, and accept delivery
  • Co-ordinate and monitor meeting room and resource bookings
  • Ensure all relevant reporting occurs promptly, is enacted as needed and filed

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE (SELECTION CRITERIA)

Essential

  • Demonstrated experience in administrationand/or reception
  • Well-developed verbal and written communication skills with a focus on providing

strong customer service

  • Phone etiquette and on point precision to accuracy
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to multitask and

to be flexible to reflect changes in priority

  • A systematic and focused approach to tasks with a strong attention to detail
  • Excellent problem solving skills with the initiative to get jobs done efficiently and

effectively

  • Proficiency in using a range of software applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel,

PowerPoint and databases

  • An ability to work with a wide range of staff to achieve effective outcomes
  • Active involvement in a local Christian church
  • Strong work ethos
