Minutes:

Meeting called to order by Derrek Sullivan at 2:02pm

Financial Review

  • Kim discussed finances
  • PCRA made about $3,000 from Fun Run
  • PCRA spent about $2,000 on Fun Day for the Priceville community
  • PCRA made about $1,100 from the gate for the baseball and softball

Derrek discussed that we are going to need volunteers to help for gates and concessions or we are going to have to start raising our registration fees and/or gate fees to help offset the cost.

We had one team from softball win the county championship: Congratulations to Patrick Dean and his team!!
We had Hendrix come in first for the regular season and Dugger came in second (both in softball).

All coaches (head and assistant) will require background checks moving forward. These checks will be required to be updated every 2 years. This is done by a third party and no one on the PCRA board knows any of the details. The only thing that PCRA board knows is Green light or Red light.

Anyone wanting to sign-up for being a head coach will be required to do so up to 2 weeks before signups begin. This is to allow parents to know who the potential coaches will be instead of being surprised later on.

Soccer:

  • Need U6 soccer coach: Jeremy Woodall stepped up and volunteered
  • U8 & U10 are covered
  • U12 need at least 1 or 2 more coaches
  • U14: This age level will be playing 11v11 at Hartselle (if we can get enough interest)

Basketball:

  • PCRA Select will be moving forward. There are a lot of discussions around this, but the biggest thing is that we want to be able to give our kids the opportunity to excel given any means that PCRA can provide. There will be a PCRA Select specific meeting on Sept 9 (time and location TBD). More information on PCRA Select Basketball can be found with these minutes online.
  • Nominations for basketball rep:
  • Sabrina Dugger agreed to be the rep for the girls but need a rep for the boys

Football:

  • No changes to be announced
  • Coaches set for all ages. No need for election in 9/10 because Anthony Legg & Derrek Sullivan withdrew their names. Coaches are Alan Hall (5/6) Chuck Clemons (7/8) Josh Skinner (9/10) Lee Keel (11/12)

Cheerleading:

  • Need coach for 5/6
  • Have coaches for all other ages.

Open discussion:

  • Was requested that our softball rep enforce that 9/10 softball in the county should be "real" softball. No limit to bases stolen, etc...
