JOB SUMMARY
As a team member of Heritage Hill State Historical Park, you will help build a positive working environment as well as inspire, transform and build our community through exceptional live experiences. The Visitor Services Associate is responsible for the daily functions of the front desk and the gift shop. This includes but is not limited to: meeting and greeting park visitors, having knowledge of all the park happenings, providing a brief park orientation and direction for park visitors, completing daily cash transactions, answering incoming telephone calls, distributing mail, cleaning, stocking, database management, and volunteer coordination and social media management. This position requires a high level of critical thinking and the ability to work both independently and part as a team.
JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES
The following are essential job accountabilities:
1. Responsible for opening and closing procedures of the Education Center and Gift Shop
2. Enthusiastically greets and orients visitors providing them with information on all park programs and services. Provides a positive experience for shoppers in the Gift Shop.
3. Is aware of our programs and incentives, including but not limited to membership, tram tours, special events and effectively communicates these to guests.
4. Completes basic reception duties such as: greeting visitors, answering phones and operating basic office equipment.
5. Operates cash register and credit card machine at the Front Desk and/or Gift Shop, completes daily cash-outs, and records the daily attendance.
6. Accurately maintains multiple databases
7. Coordinates scheduling of volunteers for the Visitor Services Department
8. Completes light maintenance and cleaning tasks when necessary.
9. Assists with stocking incoming or back stock merchandise as needed.
10. Performs other duties as assigned by the Visitor Services Manager
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
This position requires a minimum education of a high school diploma or equivalent and two (2) or more years of customer service experience. Previous cash register experience is required. Experience with the adobe suite is a plus.
The individual must be able to have a flexible work schedule with the potential for some nights and weekends.

Ø Ability to walk or stand for an hour or more at a time.
Ø Ability to lift up to 25 pounds as necessary.
