The application documents that the candidates from EU and EEA should submit are the following:
- An Application form, signed by the candidate. It is available on our website.
- A leaving Certificate / A Diploma (a secondary school/college certificate) with the marks of the subjects that are included in the assessing of the candidates (the required subjects are specific for each major and you can see them in the Table of the assessing marksbelow). In case that these required marks are missing from the Diploma, the applicants submit a transcript from the last school year during which they studied these subjects.
- A document that certifies that the above stated Diploma makes the applicant eligible to continue his / her education in a higher school or university in the country of origin.
- Medical Certificate not older than a month from the application date.
- A copy of ID – passport.
- 6 photos.
- A fee for applying.
The documents from items 2, 3 and 4 must have an apostille stamp from the country of issue. The apostilled document should be translated in Bulgarian and legalized / certified by a Bulgarian diplomatic mission or by the Consular Department of Bulgarian Ministry of foreign affairs.

*The mark in Bulgarian language is taken from the Language Certificate, issued by Trakia university or any other university in Bulgaria.
The deadlines for submitting the papers for the 2018/2019 academic year depend on the particular case of each applicant:
- In case the applicant chooses to study the desired major in Bulgarian, he / she should attend a preparatory courseof 10 months in Trakia university, studying Bulgarian and special subjects in Bulgarian. In this case the deadline for submitting the papers is the 20th of September 2018.
- In case the applicant has already passed the preparatory year and has a Bulgarian language Certificate, issued by Trakia university or any other Bulgarian university, and a Certificate issued by any of the Bulgarian Regional Departments of Education, the deadline for submitting papers is the same as the deadline applied to Bulgarian citizens – from the 4th of June 2018 till the 26th of June 2018.
- In case the applicant chooses to study the desired major in English (this is applicable to the majors that are offered in English – “Medicine”, “Veterinary medicine”, “Agronomy”, “Zooengineering”, “Fish farming and aquaculture”, “Agrarian engineering”, “Ecology and Environment protection”), the deadline for submitting the papers is the 1st of September 2018.

The application fees for the 2018/2019 academic year depend on the particular case of each applicant:
- In case the applicant chooses to study the desired major in Bulgarian, he / she should attend a preparatory 10-month course. In this case the application fee is the BGN equivalence of 50 euro (97.80 leva).
- In case the applicant has already passed the preparatory year and has a Bulgarian language Certificate, issued by Trakia university or any other Bulgarian university, the application fee is 35 BGN.
- In case the applicant chooses to study the desired major in English (this is applicable to the majors that are offered in English – “Medicine”, “Veterinary medicine”, “Agronomy”, “Zooengineering”, “Fish farming and aquaculture”, “Agrarian engineering”, “Ecology and Environment protection”), the application fee is the BGN equivalence of 50 euro (97.80 leva).
How to pay the application fee?
The application fees are paid in one of the following ways:
- In the pay desk of the University when submitting the application papers – only in BGN (Bulgarian leva) OR

It is obligatory for the applicants to write their names in the reference field.
The final assessing depends on the particular case of each applicant:
- In case the applicant chooses to study the desired major in Bulgarian, he / she should attend a preparatory 10-month coursein Trakia university. In this case the assessing is ex oficio (only by documents).
- In case the applicant has already passed the preparatory year and has a Bulgarian language Certificate, issued by Trakia university or any other Bulgarian university, he / she participates in the assessing process together with the Bulgarian candidates (the rules and regulations applied to the candidates from EU and EEA are the same as those applied to Bulgarian candidates).
- In case the applicant chooses to study the desired major in English (this is applicable to the majors that are offered in English – “Medicine”, “Veterinary medicine”, “Agronomy”, “Zooengineering”, “Fish farming and aquaculture”, “Agrarian engineering”, “Ecology and Environment protection”), the applicant sits for entry tests in English according to the following table:

The tests` results and the ranking are announced the same day or the day after (in case the candidates are many)
Important! Applicants, whose native language is not English, sit for an exam in English, too, in order to prove their language skills.
