THE MISSION OF FAITH UNITED LUTHERAN CHURCH IS TO LEAD PEOPLE INTO A GROWING RELATIONSHIP WITH

JESUS CHRIST

Our goal in Sunday School is to provide a safe, nurturing environment for toddlers through 6th graders to grow in their love of God and discover the joy of sharing that love with others.

Thank you for partnering with us in achieving that goal at Faith United, and for extending that environment for your children at home.

Standard of Behavior/Discipline

Discipline is based upon respect for others and respect for property.

Parents are encouraged to help their children understand the basic rules of behavior for Sunday School.

If there is a behavioral problem the staff will make every effort to solve the problem in a positive and constructive way.

Discipline Guidelines

Steps to be taken when a behavioral problem arises

  1. Verbal warning by the teacher
  2. Parents will be notified by written notice
  3. Parents will be asked to sit in on the class

Should there be any damage to materials, equipment, or property the student(s) involved (along with their parents) will be responsible for repair or replacement of the damaged items.

Registration: The parent(s) or guardian(s) of each student need to fill out an enrollment form.

Attendance: Regular attendance is very important for a student’s Christian growth. Enthusiasm is enhanced for students and teachers if the entire class attends regularly.

Offering: Weekly Sunday School offering is designated to Americans Helping Americans. We have offering envelopes for each student.

“CHILDREN HAVE MORE NEED FOR MODELSTHAN CRITICS

PARENTS AS PARTNERS

Even with a special staff of dedicated teachers and leaders, the time spent with students in Sunday School is minimal.

Parents are the BEST TEACHERS! So, it is important that parents are actively involved in their child’s Christian education by:

  1. Prayer support for teachers and students.
  2. Making Sunday School a priority for children.
  3. Talking with children at home about Sunday School.
  4. Supervising home Bible reading and helping with memory work.
  5. Having family devotions.
  6. Teaching the importance of “giving” by remembering the weekly Sunday School offering.
  7. Becoming a part of our Sunday School

All this will reinforce our efforts, and your actions will say,“Sunday School is important”

For us and for our salvation he came down from heaven by the Power of the Holy Spirit he became incarnate from the Virgin Mary and was made man.

For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate;

He suffered death and was buried.

On the third day he rose again in accordance with the scriptures;

He ascended into heaven.

He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead and

His kingdom will have no end.

We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son.

With the Father and the Son he is worshiped and glorified,

He has spoken through the prophets

We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic church. We

Acknowledge one Baptism for the forgiveness of sins. We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen

5th and 6th Grade

Apostles’ Creed

I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, God's only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried; he descended into hell. On the third day he rose again; he ascended into heaven, he is seated at the right hand of the Father, and he will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

Nicene Creed

We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is, seen and unseen.
We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, of one Being with the Father; through him all things were made.
