NAHA Spring Tournament Rules & Information

1. USA Hockey Rules.

2. All games will consist of:

• A 3-minute warm-up period, which will begin as soon as the Zamboni doors close following ice

resurfacing.

• 15-15-15 min periods

• Ice will be resurfaced at the conclusion of the game.

• Teams need to be ready to start 15 minutes earlier than the posted game times.

3. The home team is listed first. Home team shall wear light colored jerseys.

4. Seeding for the quarters will be determined based upon the total number of points earned in Round-Robin play. If teams are tied for points after Pool play, the tie will be broken as follows:

• First, head to head, if applicable; if more than 2 teams are tied this is not applicable.

• Second by game points(Teams receive 2 points for a win, 1 for a tie, and 1 for an overtime loss. Teams are ordered by points, then wins, then losses (ascending), and then by games played (ascending).)

• Third, by least goals

• Fourth, by dividing goals for by goals against, and

• Finally,by the flip of a coin

5. All games much reach a final result. Any tie games will be broken with a shootout in the following manner:

a. Three (3) players from each team shall participate in a shootout and they shall proceed in such order as the Coach selects with the Home team shooting first. All players are eligible to participate in the shootout unless they are serving a penalty.

b. Each team will alternate shots for 3 shooters. If the score remains tied after the first round of 3 shooters, a sudden death shoot out will begin, one player from each team shooting until there's a winner. All players must shoot before a player shoots a second time, goalies excluded.

6. There are 10 total teams and two divisions. The top two teams in each division will move on to the semis. The other teams will play consolation games to reach the four game guarantee.

7. Penalties shall be served as follows:

• Minor Penalty: 2 minutes

• Major Penalty: 5 minutes

• Misconduct: 10 minutes

• Game Misconduct: Ejection plus 1 game

• Second Game Misconduct: Ejection from Tournament

8. Players and coaches will perform the traditional center-ice handshake at the conclusion of each game.

9. Teams will provide their own pucks for warmup. Scores and stats will be posted on the NAHA Spring Tournament home page: Sunday's schedule will be posted there as results dictate standings, and also on the NAHA Twitter account @nahahockey. Teams must submit rosters on the template provided by the tournament director.

From I-89:I-89 to Rt-100 exit 10 (Waterbury). North on Rt-100 and continue to Stowe (about 10 miles). Go straight through the Rt-100 and Rt-108 intersection. Go three streets down to Park Street and turn right. Arena is on the right at the end of Park St.

Waterbury is located at the intersection of I-89 and Rt-100 in north central Vermont, approx. 15 miles northwest of Montpelier.
Rink is located approx. 2.5 miles off I-89 (exit 10). Just off the south end of Main St. in Waterbury.
From the North:I-89 south to Rt-100 (exit 10). Turn right on Rt-100 and proceed west approx. 0.1 mile to Main St. (US-2). Turn left on Main St. (US-2) and proceed south approx. 1.25 miles to River Rd. (just before going over the bridge). Bear left on River Rd. (toward the convenience store/gas station). Continue straight (keep store on your left). This is the access road to arena.
From the South:I-89 north to Rt-100 (exit 10). Turn left on Rt-100 and proceed west approx. 0.4 mile to Main St. (US-2). Turn left on Main St. (US-2) and proceed south approx. 1.25 miles to River Rd. (just before going over the bridge). Bear left on River Rd. (toward the convenience store/gas station). Continue straight (keep store on your left). This is the access road to arena.

Jackson Arena Stowe

This weekend is one of the last events at Jackson Arena which will be torn down in mid-March. A new state of the art arena will be built this spring and summer on the same site, opening in the fall of 2013. Dress warm, Jackson has 3 sides open to the outside, and can get chilly!
