Key Accountabilities:
Drive Strategic sourcing
- Develop a sourcing strategy in cooperation with the Director Strategic Sourcing, the Project/ Commodity Buyer network in BOG and BT
- Develop and manage action plan to achieve Code 30 savings targets based on Total Cost of Ownership
- Manage the supply base in line with the sourcing strategy
- Evaluate and select suppliers; rationalize the supplier base;
- Develop supplier capabilities and QCD performance
- Analyze/anticipate supplier risks
- Drive supplier improvement programs
- Ensure a stable and reliable supply chain
- Develop, in cooperation with engineering, standardized & modularized product strategies
- Integrate and develop global suppliers in the supplier strategy in cooperation with the low cost country sourcing team.
- Lead regular strategic supplier reviews.
Establish contractual relationships
- Establish and negotiate general technical (GRD, TRD) and commercial (T&C) requirements with "key" suppliers,
- Integrate suppliers in the technical developments (JDDP),
- Analyze cost of the different supplier offers, with the help of Project Buyers (expert help on should cost, target cost, financial risk, …),
- Evaluate "key" supplier's offers based on the criteria set in the technical and commercial documents, by involving engineering and quality, but as well other relevant functions in the organization,
- Negotiate frame agreementswith "key" selected suppliers (agreement on prices, product development planning, quality requirements, engineering specifications and purchase terms and conditions)
- Lead negotiations on projects with Project Buyers in support of new bids and major new projects. Bundle volumes across different Business Units.
Manage purchase contracts
- Support the Project Buyer with the design and industrialization process of the procured systems in accordance with the technical specifications, the quality requirements and available budgets.
- Support and receive information from Project/ Commodity Buyers with regards to supplier performance (on time deliveries, quality performance).
- Participate to regular supplier performance reviews.
- Support Project Buyers in negotiating major change orders which are not in line with previously agreed frame agreements.
- Support the Project Buyers and the Legal Department in major claim negotiations.
After sales support
- Observe supplier contract performance, major issues through the Strategic Buyer network and provide input to all involved functions (e.g. engineering, quality)
- University/FH degree
- Minimum of 5 years purchasing/strategic sourcing experience of mechanical equipmentwithin an industrial environment
- Practical understanding of Kanban, JIT, Kaizen, 5S, Lean, etc.
- Project management skills
- Negotiation skills
- Financial awareness, in particular, experience in cost structure analysis andcostreduction activities
- Availabilityto travel internationally
- Good intercultural understanding to help facilitate working with suppliers and internal interfaces in different countries
- Fluency in German and English
