List the nominee’s accomplishments or involvement related to payroll/HR in the following areas:

Chapter Level Activities

Mary has been an active chapter member for about 18 years. She just recently ended a her 3rd term (6 years) as Government Liaison. From 2005 to present she has been the SEPA chapter’s sole web master. During that time we have upgraded our website twice. To which she has done most of the research to find the right web host. This past upgrade, she has single handedly moved information from one site to the new site.

Mary is also instrumental in getting the website ready for chapter meeting registration including linking Pay Pal to accept online payments. Without her the chapter would be lost.

Mary usually avoids the spotlight but volunteers quite a bit. People don’t always realize she was a major help in the 2005 statewide planning and she is also helping plan the 2009 statewide. She has volunteered for quite a number of the SEPA community outreach projects, NPW planning, and is instrumental in gathering information needed to apply for the APA National contest. She has helped create the last 4 years of the Chapter pictorial displays for Congress, has volunteered for NPW and various other committees throughout the years. Basically Mary is the chapter’s right arm.

National Level Activities

At the National level, Mary volunteers as a member of the Strategic Payroll Leadership Taskforce Emerging Technology Committee and The Government Affairs Task Force for Data Privacy. Mary is also a volunteer for the APA Hotline and has been a speaker at APA Leadership Conferences in 2006 & 2008.

Employment/Job Activities

Mary has been employed in the payroll profession since 1984. Currently, she is the Payroll Manager for Main Line Health, Inc. located in Philadelphia's western suburbs. Main Line Health has four distinguished community-based acute care hospitals; a renowned specialty hospital for rehabilitation; a staff of more than 1,700 physicians and surgeons; and a network of outpatient, home care and long-term care programs. Mary is responsible for all the related payroll functions for 10,000+ employees.

Community Activities

In Mary’s free time she volunteers for the Pancreatic Cancer Research Association in remembrance of her sister who passed away earlier this year. She also volunteers in the political arena for the local politicians. Mary has always participated in SEPA community outreach projects such as National Lands Day, MDA telethon, MDA bowl a thons, and various walks to raise funds for various charities.
