2017GOOD HANDS COMMUNITY CARE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
OBJECTIVEGood Hands Community Care is a recognized non-medical in home care agency serving throughout the mid-south. Coming from disadvantaged backgrounds, the owners tremendously benefited from alumni and local scholarships to help fund their college education. In turn, allowing them an opportunity to pursue their dreams. The (GHCC) Scholarship Program offers awards up to $300, non-renewable scholarship that recognizes graduating high school seniors for academic achievement. It provides financial assistance to help deserving students accomplish their future educational goals. The GHCC does this in recognition of the continuing need to promote higher education for future generations.
AWARD CRITERIA / SUBMISSION REQUIRMENTS- Applicant must be a graduating high school senior in 2017
- Applicant must reside in the following TN counties – Shelby, Fayette and Tipton
- Applicant must attend an institution of higher learning
- Applicant must have an acceptance letter from an institution of higher learning
- Applicant must have a financial need.
- Applicant must have an academic grade point average of 2.5 or higher.
- Applicant must have provided service to their community.
- Application must be submitted on the current GHCC Scholarship Form. Incomplete
applications or submissions that do not follow the submission criteria will not be
processed or considered for evaluation. - Applicant must include two letters of recommendation from: (1) high school
principal, academic dean, or guidance counselor and (2) a high school teacher.
AWARD SELECTION PROCEDURE
Applicant’s scholastic achievements, leadership ability, extracurricular activities,
career/academic goals and financial need will be considered and must be documented in
letters of recommendation and summarized on the form.
A selection panel will review all applications received and make final recommendations to the GHCC Executive Board, who will approve the final award winners. Awardees will be notified in May 2016 if they have been awarded a scholarship. No phone calls please.
In May 2017, award checks up to $300.00 will be issued at an award luncheon. Pictures and names of recipients may be publicized at GHCC website and Facebook page.
DeadlineGHCC must receive applications no later than April 14, 2017 5 pm CST to be considered by the selection panel. No exceptions to this deadline will be allowed. Any applications received
incomplete or after this date will not be considered for selection. No applications by fax or
e-mail transmission will be accepted. All applications must be mailed or delivered to
