Position Summary / Conduct operational and financial audits throughout PepsiCo in order to identify risks and controls that may impact on the integrity of reported financial information and/or the achievement of business objectives. The role will require strong analytical and presentation skills.
Position Accountabilities / Business Knowledge:
•Review AOP and Strategic Plan prior to the start of the audit, preparing questions relating to business performance issues (i.e., non-control related) and controls for discussion with management during the audit.
•Cross-reference findings with other auditors.
•Prepare overview notes of plant visits, market tours and route rides and record in TM.
•For each relevant audit section, document actual and target KPIs monitored by management in TM, comment on performance against target and record impact on audit work. Benchmark against other entities where possible.
Planning:
•Review Assessment of Controls questionnaires and other planning information and incorporating results into TeamMate (TM) software sections.
•Review AOP objectives relating to audit section to identify potential audit risks, document in TM, and include impact in risk/control matrix.
•Review planning memo and incorporating all risk factors as separate steps in TM sections.
•Prepare risk/control matrix for each audit section.
Audit Execution:
  • Understand and document assigned business process steps and underlying controls.
  • Leverage business knowledge to identify control and business efficiency opportunities.
  • Discuss processes with other staff members and evaluate control risks.
  • Perform appropriate level of testing to validate controls are working and clearly document the results.
  • Calibrate preliminary findings at the end of first week with rest of team to verify that scope of work and timeline are appropriate.
  • Understand PepsiCo Risk Management Process.
  • Discuss Business Risk Assessment and Management with management during audits and assist in identifying new risks.
/ Audit Reporting:
•Issues all audit findings or business process improvements after agreeing actions with the relevant functional owner.
•Accurately record all findings and action plans in the status meeting agendas.
•Complete and agree all findings, actions and owner/completion dates in the draft detailed audit report before the close meeting. The aim should be to require minimal additional discussions with management on each point since wording should have been agreed in prior discussions.
Communication:
•Present audit findings and business process improvements with the related business impact in a clear and concise manner.
•Clearly communicate all audit exceptions to the audit manager before each status meeting.
•Present findings and business impact accurately during the close meeting with local management.
Teamwork within audit:
  • Actively participate in audit planning discussions.
  • Proactively discuss audit findings and business process improvements with the rest of the audit team at least weekly before each status meeting.
  • Share knowledge with other team members (e.g., sharing of best practices).
  • Continually assess progress of audit during fieldwork and assist on other audit sections where work may be completed early.
  • Actively participate in rating and priority assignment during the close week.
  • Actively participate in completing the job summary report.
  • Provide feedback on each assignment and suggestions on improvements to the process.
Other:
•Enhance cross-functional effectiveness by participating in different projects to improve audit effectiveness. Projects will include (may not be involved in all projects).

Generally requires 6-8 years in Accounting or Finance. /
