Job Title: Party Food Cook/Chef

Reports To: SOHO Store Manager

Responsible For:Planning, Preparation and Delivery of Party Food

1. JOB PURPOSE AND MAIN AIMS

To assist the SOHO Store Manager with the weekend management of all on site party catering, to include but not be limited to, the planning, preparation and delivery of all party and adult buffets.To assist in the provision of a quality service to the customer as well as to ensure that quality standards are maintained throughout the site. To collate party booking information for the following week to ensure correct numbers of children, party times and food quantities required are given to the SOHO Store Manager in order to process food orders and meet the expectations of our customers hosting children parties.

2. SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

a)To manage the on site party food cooking and preparation.To ensure party food is cooked and ready at the correct times throughout the day, in line with party bookings.

b)To telephone parties for the following week to obtain party guest numbers in order to create information ready to place food and disposable orders.

c)To undertake general kitchen duties, ensuring that all legislation and procedures are followed by all SOHO staff while on shift.

d)To place orders and accept deliveries as required from nominated suppliers as requested by SOHO Store Manager.

e)To follow the Normal Operating Procedures and the Food Safety procedures as instructed.

f)To undertake cleaning duties and to set up and dismantle equipment as required.

g)To adhere to all food safety checklists and cleaning schedules as laid down by management and ensure that they are completed.

h)To observe and adhere to all COSHH, HACCP, Food Safety and Health & Safety Legislation.

And any other duties commensurate with the grade and falling within the scope of the post, as requested by Management.Duties may change over time and you will be expected to co-operate where such changes are reasonable.

3. SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE (SELECTION CRITERIA)

Essential Criteria

a)Qualified with a relevant NVQ Level 3 or equivalent or have an equivalent level of relevant experience.

a)Experience of working in preparation,cooking & execution within a high volume party role or similar environment.

b)Must have experience and full understanding of working with allergens when working for vulnerable client groups specifically children’s parties and adult buffets.

c)Great ability to remain calm under pressure.

d)Must have full understanding and experience of Allergen & Food Safety Legislation

e)Awareness of current Health and Safety legislation.

f)Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.

g)Good organisational and planning skills.

h)Knowledge of business IT applications (e.g. Word/Excel).

i)Intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate.

a)Intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate.

4. PHYSICAL EFFORT AND/OR STRAIN

a)Will be required to aid with the setting up of catering equipment which may involve some manual handling.

b)May be required to take deliveries, which may involve some manual handling.

5. SPECIAL NOTES OR CONDITIONS

a)The post holder will be required to work at weekends, with the additional week day work if required.

b)The post holder will be required to wear a uniform at all times whilst on duty.

c)The post holder may be required to provide cover for colleagues from time to time.

d)The post holder will be required to undergo regular training.

e)The post holder may be required to work at any of the sites and travel between them as necessary.
