THE PRESIDENT’S ADDRESS

Martynthanked all members of the council for their efforts over the last year.
The Institute has had a good year and Ian's impact as deputy has been felt with a positive impact upon the dinner attendance with Covea taking two tables for the first time. Overall theAnnual Dinner proved to be a huge successand lots of positive feedback has again been received.
Martyn also highlighted that we present a varied CPD program with positive feedback being received from the attendees. It was also aim to stage 9 events per annum, very positive for an Institute of the size of Halifax.

THE TREASURER’S REPORT

David provided everyone with a summary of the Treasurers Report for the year ending 31 December 2014 and a copy of this is attached to the minutes.
It was noted that the Annual Dinner made a surplus even after the charity donation. At 31 December 2014 the closing balance was £4,496.94slightly up on last year.
The cost of lunchtime lectures has also increased due to growing attendances and an increased no of events.

Ian Chapman, Deputy President was proposed for President.
The appointment was proposed by Martyn Foulds and seconded by Chris Kirkbride.
Unanimous support from all Council Members.

OFFICERS REPORTS

CHARITIES
A total of £279.00 has been donated to the Insurance Charities.
There will be an increase focus in 2015 on the Charities work by Natasha.

2015 ANNUAL DINNER

It was unanimously agreed that this year’s dinner wasonce againa great success. A profitwas made once again, predominantly due to sponsorship once again from Highbury Homes. It is hoped to continue with this arrangement in 2016.
We also raised £1221 for RavenstoneSchool meaning that we attained cornerstone funding status.
8 / 2014 – 2015 SOCIAL & EVENTS PROGRAMME AND NEWSLETTER
A programme of lunchtime lecturesis in place until March 2016 although there remain 4 lectures to fill. In addition to the lunchtime lectures there are now numerous podcasts available to CII members.
We will jointly support the Bradford Institute Golf Day due to a reduced turnout for both Institutes and will continue to hold a quiz and ten pin bowling events.
