Volunteer Opportunities
Dear Volunteer,
Thank you for all the hard work and time you put in to help neighbors in your community live independently.
Urgent Needs
Client matchers: Do you like to make phone calls? Interfaith is looking for a volunteer who can call volunteer drivers and match them to clients who need rides on Friday mornings from 9:00am-11:00am. No cold-calling involved!
Lawn Mowing: Interfaith is in need of more volunteers to help out their neighbors by mowing grass for the summer. We’ll match you with a neighbor in need and you can enjoy the summer sun and help someone out on your schedule.
Minor Home Repair: Do you enjoy painting? There is a woman in Hartland who needs her bathroom repainted. She will have all the materials ready for the volunteer.
Healthcare and Grocery Shopping Drivers: We have to cancel 5-10 rides per week because of our shortage of drivers. Help provide a ride that keeps a senior or adult with disability living independently. If you have a couple hours to spare during the week, consider driving for Interfaith. Shout out to our current volunteer drivers for being so willing to help!

Bus Buddy Volunteers
We are still looking for volunteers who would be comfortable teaching seniors and individuals with disabilities how to ride the bus. Interfaith will provide bus fare while you are participating in this new program. Bus riding experience is helpful, but not necessary.

Education Volunteer of the Year Award
United Way recognized Interfaith’s very own Rudy Willis on May 29 with the Education Volunteer of the Year Award. Rudy serves with RSVP as a tutor, ambassador, client assessor and driver in Waukesha. He began volunteering with Interfaith Senior Programs as a volunteer driver and rapidly became more involved extending his outreach to helping students with their reading and writing, assessing potential new clients, and recruiting new volunteers. Rudy has gone as far as bringing in a robot to code with students to get them more excited about science and technology.
Rudy is very familiar when it comes to service. As a veteran, he understands selfless dedication. When asked to join a pilot volunteer program, Ambassadors of Interfaith, which sends volunteers out into the community to recruit new volunteers, Rudy was more than willing to be a voice for the organization and share his testimony of service. Rudy compares volunteering to harvesting a field. It takes many hours of hard labor before you see any fruit, “Although I do not have a ‘field’ to harvest, as a retiree, I have time and energy that I was not harvesting fully.” Today, Rudy has served over 260 hours and continues to give back to his community.
