Willowbrook School

“Believe, Achieve, Succeed together”

Dear Parent/Guardian,

Welcome back. We hope everybody has had a good break, ready for some more learning!

We are creating a wildlife area at the side of the school which also has a pond. This area will be fenced off, with a gate from the driveway to access the area. We are hoping to attract lots of different wildlife.

To help this area, and for safety reasons, there will be no access to school through the driveway or through the car park. Anyone wishing to access the school should use the main pedestrian gateway and walk around the school using the newly widened pathway to the Year Four classrooms.

Children are looking good in their school uniform at the minute. Please can we remind you that school uniform is grey or black trousers or skirt, Willowbrook sweatshirt and white polo shirt. Children should not wear shoes that have a large heel. This is to ensure that children are safe when they are running around.

We pride ourselves on the number of sports clubs we run and the quality of our PE teaching. Can we remind you that PE kits are white T shirts and black or navy PE shorts. There should be NO jewellery or bows worn in PE for reasons of safety.

We are hosting an E Safety Talk on Wednesday 22nd February run by PSCO Shelton. There are lots of things parents and carers need to know about the internet to keep children safe. You can arrive by 5.30 with the talk starting at 6.00. Tea and coffee will be served. There are limited crèche spaces for toddlers, which must be booked at the office.

Please can you have a look at home for library books that need returning. Lost library books are costing the school thousands of pounds!

Well done to the children who reached the Devon Futsal Final in Torbay and a big thank you the staff who took the children.

Well done to the children who played in the Quicksticx Festival at St. Luke’s. We were awarded the Spirit of the Games Award from the organisers. Once again thank you to the staff that made this possible.

FISH After School Club will be held at Ladysmith School on a Monday and Friday and at Willowbrook on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday as from this week.

One final reminder that there is a No Smoking rule around school for cigarettes and Vapers
