Trust Housing AssociationLtd has exciting opportunity for a Finance Apprentice based at our head office in Edinburgh.

Trust Housing Association is a national housing, support and care provider, offering a range of accommodation and support services. Primarily serving older people in our communities we also provide housing for families and individuals. We have over 2,500 households across the length and breadth of Scotland, from the Highlands and Islands all the way down to the Borders.

You will be required to work 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Ideally, you will have some Intermediate 2 and/or Higher passes or a college based qualification, but most of all you should be able to demonstrate a positive and ‘can do’ attitude, be determined to work hard and enjoy being an important part of a team.

POST:LOCATION:

Finance Apprentice New Mart Road, Edinburgh

PURPOSE OF JOB

Work with colleagues to deliver quality administration support with a strong customer focus. Responsible for timely, efficient and accurate administration within the department, which includes data cleansing and housekeeping of computerised records, prepaid card maintenance, posting payments as well as daily banking preparation and distribution of incoming and outgoing mail for the department. Reactively assist with other financial services tasks as required.

MAIN DUTIES & ACTIVITIES

  • Assist with the logging of purchase ledger invoices
  • Administration of prepaid company credit cards and associated maintenance
  • Distribution of monthly payslips to employees
  • Assist with the preparation and production of monthly petty cash reconciliations for developments and offices
  • Assist with the preparation of the monthly ledger control file
  • Processing daily banking and preparation of paperwork for security pick up
  • Distribution of incoming and outgoing mail for the department
  • Data cleansing and housekeeping of computerised records held in the financial systems
  • Process tenant rent payments over the phone
  • Any other ad hoc duties appropriate to the role as required

REPORTING ARRANGEMENTS

The postholder reports to the Assistant Accountant who will agree through regular one to one meetings the relative priority to be given to the above tasks
